Olivello Ristorante in Middlesbrough

Amazing food and atmosphere. Cocktails are a must try and the staff are so welcoming.

I visited Olivello's today with my colleagues to celebrate the teams one year anniversary.The decor very nice,Service initially was OK,Food terrible!!!!!As we do when asked if everything is ok at the start of the meal, all nodded politely, after a few minuets it was clear none of us where enjoying the meal. The main issue with all the dishes was the chicken, it looked like chopped reformed prepacked chicken. Very bland. 4 out of the 5 of us left at least half of our meals. The server asked was everything ok, we politely said there was an issue with the chicken. The server at this point was very unhelpful/rude, We asked to speak to the manager, a man came to the table and told us there can not be anything wrong with our meals as we did not tell them straight away he shouted very loud that he thinks we have eaten the food and now dont want to pay, 4 out of the 5 meals he could see had not been eaten, he went on to compare the chicken served in Olivello to other restaurants in Middlesbrough and continued to tell us we can not make such comments at the end of a meal.We pointed out that we just wanted to make them aware that the chicken was not great and maybe he could let the chef know this.By the end of the discussion he offered us a discount that was 20% when the bill arrived however this was not the point, in the service industry id expect a much better level of service a simple apology and maybe the offer of a drink or desert would have been declined but a nice gesture instead we where shouted at and made to feel as if we didn't want to pay our bill!!!!! Not good Olivello, the food was less than average and the service even worse!!!!!! This is one restaurants we will not visit again.

Food was really good. Tasty perfect portionsOnly thing we were seated near the bar so naturally I watched the drinks getting made.I didn't like the fact they were just eyeballing spirits. And the fact the daiquiri on the menu said absolut vodka and it was Glen's or something similar they used.

I got chicken Fajitas which tasted of nothing but salt, after half of it I gave up and the people I was with let me try parts of theirs. Pizza seems pretty solid, parmo was decent (although these too tasted quite salty). The pasta was awful, another member of our group didn't come close to finishing their meal either because the pasta was hard.One last note on the Fajitas, it seems illilogical to bring that out last when it needs preparation when everyone else can start as soon as food arrivesThis meant people were waiting around for me at the end because I wasn't done yet.

Firstly, couldn't fault the staff, very friendly and helpful. Lovely surroundings too. The service though was extremely slow, even though the restaurant nowhere near full capacity. It took almost an hour between starter and main courses. Our calzone was over baked and hard, and no amount of sauce could soften that, and there was an ingredient missing from another dish. The three star review is for the staff. We are most unlikely to return.

Came here with a friend. We had late lunch and a cheeky cocktail. I had a vegetarian parmo never tried the vegetarian version but was very pleased with it and my friend had Lasagne which she gave me a taste of, that was delicious too. We had some sort of sliced roasted orange drink garnish in the cocktail not sure if suppose to eat that but it was yummy! So I ate my friends too! Great service and delicious food!

Excellent restaurant for gluten free, almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. Cocktails are amazing too! Lovely night. The staff are great, so lovely and very attentive. Definitely one of my favourite gluten free restaurants!

Had a brilliant night celebrating a family members birthday. The food and service was first class. Would like to thank all the staff you were amazing thank you for a fabulous evening. Would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Greeted instantly by the owner, very welcoming and friendly. We were offered the choice of seats which I always find very comforting. The decor is modern yet quaint, very beautifully done. We were served promptly with no sacrifice on quality to the food. Everything was beautiful and tasty. The staff were extremely clean and professional throughout. Very friendly staff and good prices too. Will definitely be returning.

Food was good, a typical Italian but I don't mean any offence by that. Food came so fast & was hot. Only downside it was so so loud we couldn't hear each other speak, but that's not the restaurant fault it's the table of 12 who were shouting over each other for attention.
