Drove past here a few times recently and ended up visiting with a friend today. Walked in at opening time, greeted and seated immediately. We opted for the lunch special, 3 courses for 8.95. The choices were much better than other places and for starters we had spicy tomato and garlic chicken wings and calamari. The wings were lovely and I'm informed the calamari was very good as well. We both opted for pizzas for our mains and they were great, lovely fresh dough and they didn't scrimp on the toppings either. The service was really good and I will definitely be back.

Brilliant service and hospitality today for my whole family.... we booked our half the restaurant for 3 hours... Thank you! You handled us all very professionally.

Worst Italians I’ve ever ate. Carbonara had no taste at all just penne pasta and some sort of ‘chicken’. Bolognese pizza may as well just of been thick dough. Should be embarrassed to call themselves an Italians, complete waste of money.

Italian resteraunt wow shocking pizza thick tasteless and the weirdest tasting pepperoni if it was I have ever consumed didn't even manage to eat a slice next pasta carbonara shocking boiled pasta basically with cream and dry chicken no seasoning etc sure it's supposed to contain egg yolks etc parmesan maybees salt and pepper this is the worst Italian food I have ever had always expect better quality from an Italian resteraunt this place is a sham and an insult to Italy and a waste of my hard earned cash 24 quid in the bin furious

Ordered £30 of food which all had to be put into the bin after one mouthful. Carbonara sent with no sauce and dry bits of chicken along with a burger/onion rings/potato skins dripping in so much grease the plates were swimming. Called restaurant to be answered with attitude a gesture of having my food re delivered but not until tomorrow night? No offer of refund for the absolute disgrace of food that had been sent out. Do not recommend unless you want to feel degraded for spending sufficient amount of money on food.

After a slightly less than perfect performance on our last visit, the staff were back to their best this time. Table for 4 booked for 7pm we arrived a little early but were seated immediately and given menus, glasses and a bottle opener for the bottles of booze we brought with us. It's like a Downing Street party, BYOB.After a short time we were ordering and our starters arrived in very good time. These were beautiful cooked and very tasty. After finishing the starters the plates were cleared and in no time our mains were on the table. Again fantastic food but it proved too much to finish and we have enough food for another meal in a doggy bag on the kitchen bench hahaha

*Groupon deal*Staff were really friendly and helpful, including the owner. We went using the groupon deal and the staff did not make us feel awkward. We were sat promptly and our orders taken quickly (but not rushed) & food brought out promptly. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere. It is worth noting that you have to bring your own alcohol if you want it.However, in comparison to what we saw other full paying customers being served the quality of what we were served was very poor. You could make better food at home. The starters were ok, however the mushroom starter that I had tasted like it came from a can (or was poorly cooked). The pizzas we were served were REALLY bad. The dough was clearly freshly made and the kitchen looked fancy, but the choice of ingredients and seasonings was overwhelmingly bad. As you can see in the pictures the tuna pizza literally had piles of garlic purée spooned on top. My campagne pizza had essentially raw veg on top which was not seasoned at all. While we ate most of it because we were starving, realistically this was very poor food. We were not expecting much as we were only paying £13.56 for two courses for two people, this is very cheap but we still felt it was l poor value for money. In addition, even though the restaurant looked like it had recently been renovated, the toilets were in a very unhygienic condition. They did not look like they had been cleaned for a while, which is of course concerning. They really need to keep these cleaner to avoid hygiene concerns.

I've been going to Achellos quite often now. The lunchtime menu is quite affordable, getting a pizza or pasta along with a starter and dessert. I however have found the steaks to be unresistible. They also do a Sunday dinner which is authentic and very tasty. They definitely know how to cook their meat here. Service is very helpful and friendly, they will also package anything for takeout. This is a must try for anyone who loves Italian food or any food for that matter.
