Amaysia Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Food was delicious and well served. Restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, for good reason. I like healthy and hygienically prepared food. I had ordered King prawns and broccoli. It was great (broccoli could have been a bit softer but that's a subjective judgement - some people like it crisp). I hope all of their food is like that.

The fried chicken thigh that's comes with some of the dishes is really good. Light crispy skin and tender and juicy inside.All the rice and noodle dishes we tried were all very tasty.The portions are big. You can't really tell from most of the photos but everything is a bigger portion than you would normally expect.I would consider this a good interpretation of Chinese food. Not particularly westernised.

Tasty food and friendly service!Came here on a Wednesday evening for the hainannese chicken but was unfortunately sold out.I had beef tendon and brisket with rice and a red bean iced drink. The food is flavourful, portion is big for an affordable price. The tendon is soft almost melts in your mouth, totally recommend this dish. The red bean drink is a bit too sweet for my liking, if you like evaporated milk, you’re going to love it!The place was very busy during evening, there’s plenty options to choose from on the menu and the vibe is great, all the staffs are super nice as well! Plus, they gave you free prawn crackers!

I know it's been a short while only, but I really miss Malaysia's food!)The owner of Amaysia happens to be from Penang, and the cuisine served was pretty darn good!Ah.. Having Soya Cincau, some Teh Ais… whoa, hands down, good stuff.. And the fried chicken wings were crisp and delicious.We thoroughly enjoyed our Mala Hotpot. With quality ingredients, premium beef slices and lotus roots, it was great food and great family time.It's lovely to know that we have food in Newcastle that has very much semblance to home. Even better to be having family around us.I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Terrible experience! We had been waiting for our spicy hotpot for an hour after we were seated, even the next table customers who arrived at the same time already finished their dinner!!!!! When we asked the waitress where was our food, they just realised they totally forgot to cook it in the kitchen. Apparently, they rushed to cook our food after instead of telling us the truth so that most of the food in the spicy hotpot, especially the intestines were not ready to eat, plus the cilantros were still "wild"... We were pretty sure the food was very chewy and not fully cooked, because we ordered the same hotpot here several times, so we asked them to taste the food and come up with a solution. Instead of apologising and telling us the truth (which we could understand, human beings make mistakes, and nobody is perfect. When the restaurant is quite busy, forgetting things could happen sometimes...), the guy who tried the food totally denied the truth and told us this spicy hotpot was supposed to be cooked like this (I could tell from his face, the food was very hard for him to chew and swallow). Lying to us and finding excuses were not tolerable! From the beginning to the end, no sincere apologies at all, and our date night was ruined because of this bad experience! They definitely lost us as customers forever!

Went here on a date with my girlfriend. Really busy had to wait a few minutes to get in, amazing service though, large portion sizes, fairly cheap for a restaurant. Good menu and interior design. Would recommend 👌

Nice and cosy restaurant on Chinatown, close to St James Park. Good for the family, Sea Bass meal was nice, likewise the King Prawn Black Sauce. Good night out. You have to book your table though.

I have been here so many times as the food is amazing, its an Asian fusion.The menu has pictures of the food and drinks so you know what your getting.The portions are huge and flavoursome.My fave is the stewed lamd curry noodle soup, stewed beef with noodles and black bean crispy noodles. All the drinks are bottled, including the coke and soda water and beer.
