Please hear me out! So I am giving 2 stars purely because of the layout and potential cross contamination. Something that can easily be resolved so I hope they take the feedback so I can update my review because the food (what I was able to eat anyway) was fab!The shop is lovely and clean looking with a pleasent dining area. It has a 1 way system where you pick up a tray and tongs, load up with what you want whilst making your way around the shop and either sit in or takeout (they take cash/card).The products on the island in the centre of the shop are all on trays inside clear units where you slide the lid open, pick what you want and close. The issue is they have alot, if not mainly, pork related products. Each unit fits 2 trays in. Whilst they have the pork/non-pork products on seperate trays, as someone who can't eat pork I was very uncomfortable with this to the point where I did not try anything from those units. It would be better for each unit to have either pork or non pork products, not a mix of both please 😩Also I saw that the tongs may just be placed back at the entrance once used and handed in at the till? As opposed to being cleaned first? I can't confirm this 100% so would appreciate a response to clarify. In terms of Covid related cleaning practices, I would imagine they would need to be cleaned? Food and cross contamination wise, if someone is using tongs to handle pork products, then this is an issue for the next person i.e. me who can't have pork. Also the shop is very busy (and rightly so!) So it's a little difficult to ask about all products in the rush. They have labels for each item but it would be better if they could list ingredients or label what is suitable for vegetarians? Because for example, one item said this contains lard. I can't have lard so I was able to avoid this (thanks). But if the labels were consistent or explained what each item is/contains the shopping experience would be much better.I really truly hope you take this on board as many friends who are in the same position are put off eating here despite the praises for some items! It would make us feel safer and more confident eating with clear sign posting and better seperation for meat/non meat items.Wishing you all the best and hoping for a message back with your thoughts ❤️❤️

A strange combination of savoury fillings encased in a slightly sweet bread from hot dog sausages to chicken and beef fillings, good food for on the go

The pineapple bun is so much better that has a thicker and tastier crust than that I had from another popular bakery in London city centre. The sweetness of 老婆餅 is just right, not too sweet and very tasty which I like 😋👍👍

Nice place, great friendly staff and great selection. I'm a big fan of having balls in my mouth, but I don't like having bubble tea or balls in my mouth, therefore I can't rate the tea.

Will priced, with great variety on offer. Selection of baked goods is unrivalled in the surrounding area.

Popped in today for the first time for some sweet things for new year-stumbled across it-bought some buns and cake-haven’t lasted! Loved them all-will be back!

Great little bakery. Been coming here for 4 years and has not disappointed. While other supermarkets have stopped selling the traditional Asian buns, they have not despite being a small business in the pandemic.I recently bought a cake from here for a birthday, and was made to spec/to image which I’m super happy about/recommend to others. Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t already!

It was a lovely surprise to find this little gem tucked away in Newcastle! The smell of freshly cooked bread lured us in and we were not at all disappointed. Its a great little cafe and all the different breads and cakes they have on offer are simply delicious!
