"St Vincent is a small cosy wine bar, inspired by the places we fell for while traveling in France and Italy. The sort of place for friends to hang out and enjoy great food and great drinks. The offering is carefully curated; a selection of small plates for sharing, some of their favourite wines from small producers, a few of the cocktail classics they love most plus beautiful hand-crafted charcuterie and cheeses."

Must admit I'm not too keen on the options on the food menu, but this place is my favourite destination in Newcastle for wine. Brilliant selection of wines by the glass!

Emma was extremely helpful, particularly when it came to deciding on wine. She gave our experience a personal touch, making us feel welcome and at home amongst what could have been an intimidating wine list. She knew her stuff and went out of her way to accommodate our varied tastes. The food was delicious and we’ll definitely be back again.

Top place. Staff can’t do enough for you. Wine is fantastic and much better than equally priced wines elsewhere. A must visit in Newcastle.

A little on the pricey side but fantastic wine and food. The wine list is sensational and the staff are knowledgeable. Dining is tapas style and is delicious. The service could do with a little improvement as our glasses spent a lot of time empty. They could have sold us 2 more large glasses of wine each if they'd been more on it.

Best wine bar in the north east! Phenomenal service attentive and kind staff and amazing small plates ! Matt and all staff are accommodating of any level of wine expertise and will find the right drink for anyone ! Absolute favourite- best ravioli and tiramisu I have had outside of Italy !

This is our first visit. I thought the menu was uninspiring and expensive for what you actually got. The service on our visit was very poor. The waitress began clearing the table when one of our party of 4 was still eating, in fact she actually leaned over the person eating to retrieve dishes. Then when serving the desserts the waiter dropped one of the doughnuts on the table, and all he said was oops, not sorry and would you like me to replace that. Then another waitress clearing dessert dishes dropped them on the floor spilling sauce from the doughnuts on my friends shopping bag and his foot. So overall the food quality was good but potion to price ratio not too good. Service appalling. I loved the forerunner of this restaurant ( Caffe Vivo) but will not be in a hurry to come back here. Personally I think Terry Laybourne has let his standards drop.

This is another little gem from Terry Laybourne's 21 group. Formerly Cafe Vivo, the place has undergone a rebranding with a totally different menu. Our party of 4 ordered the tapas size dishes (I'd advise to order 3 or 4 dishes each), every one of them was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a nice buzz to it, a good relaxed atmosphere. It's a little pricey but worth it for the freshly prepared menu.

This is the second time I've been to St Vincent’s and the atmosphere, menu and general vibe is right up my street BUT both times I've been I've had a negative experience as a veggie (and a lactose intolerant person). Be VERY wary if you’re a veggie / vegan or have any kind of intolerance or allergy - they don't cater for it well enough. The veggie options are great, and when we requested some breads and dips we we're told the closest thing on the menu was the crostini, to which we agreed (after placing our initial order of veggie mushroom ravioli) -please note we handed the menu's back to our server at this point. The crostini arrived and looked like it had a cheese and tomato topping. The waitress didn't elaborate so we just dug in/ I dug in to the tomato one, no too sure what was on the other ones as it looked like a pale hard cheese (which are often not veggie / lactose intolerant friendly) and it did taste a bit funny, but I thought it was the spice used or possibly the use of aubergine. Anyway when the waiter came over I asked what was in the tomato sauce topping - to which he replied it was a sausage and tomato sauce. I was pretty horrified and told him I was veggie and not told that this wasn't veggie...It was really wrong of the waitress to assume and not tell us what the toppings were when she brought them over or took our order. Perhaps that's too presumptuous, but when we didn't have the menu's to check we assumed (as I think a lot of people would) that it was ok.No apology was given, and the item was still on the bill when it arrived…Anyway the first time I went and had a tea - I asked for some soy or non-dairy milk ' only to be told they 'don't do' non-dairy milks because it's a waste of stock, as not enough people have it. It's a bit shocking to be told this, and also pretty unwelcoming for someone who CAN'T have cow's milk, let alone someone who chooses not to have it.Really wanted to love this place - but won't be going back because of these experiences.
