Central Oven & Shaker in Newcastle upon Tyne

We always visit here for cocktails when in Newcastle. They never disappoint. We've eaten here before too. Food is good

The whole of Newcastle was pretty quiet on Friday when we were there for a works night out, cocktails are lovely, got served quickly. Been previously when I was with friends, it was very busy, took ages to get served and got orders a bit mixed up

Came in for a few for drinks in the bar area. Seating was nice, drinks were good and the atmosphere was vibey.Only negative is its price, compared to other local watering holes it's a bit pricey. And the music is a little too loud last Friday.

Lovely place, made a point of booking a table before we got up to Newcastle because its that nice. The staff are attentive and friendly and it sells Strongbow, unlike most other pubs in Newcastle. Will be back soon on our next visit.

Visited this place with a colleague last week, the food was nice but I was extremely ill afterwards. There was no handwash inside the toilets and no hand sanitizer on the outside wall, I alerted the staff behind the reception and to their credit they did share some hand sanitizer from behind the bar. I found it very unsanitary and unhygienic that there was nothing in the toilets though and this coincided with me being extremely ill at the restaurant. I thought the service was ok but I found the laid back attitude to hygiene concerning. In terms of the menu several items were not available. Happy to advise further if the management want to speak to me or call

The pizzas here are amazing, great cocktails too and the interior is really nice. The only thing I'd say which put me off was the bar bit. I've been here loads of times before and it's always had a relaxed vibe. But on Sunday it was full of hen parties and had loud music. It's seperate from the restaurant as its down some stairs, but the music and shouting seeped up. So nice restaurant but a bit of a Ash of vibes tbh. Possibly not like this all the time though as I've been before and it was fine.

Very nice spicy prawns pasta. I might order this again at my next visit.

Food was delicious. Cocktails were yummy. Served by new girl, said it was her first day. She done an amazing job, asked regularly if we needed anything else, how was our food, even asked what we had been doing today. First class service on her first day. 😁😁😁😁

This place was recommended to me by a friend for having good cocktails and pizzas. Upon arrival I didn’t think that the staff were very friendly or welcoming which was a shame.The place itself is very nicely decorated and has a nice ambience.We ordered the food and drinks and I can honestly say I was not impressed in the slightest. The food was not of the quality that I expected and really needs a lot of attention as it was a very disappointing meal. The drinks were fine, nothing special. I was just really shocked by the food and it left me feeling a little uneasy, I sadly couldn’t finish my plate.Overall, I have given this place a 3* as it needs a lot of improvement in food and service. I wouldn’t go back.
