Visited the Tavern on the 18th Feb with my family after attending a Stranglers concert close by. Nice pub good atmosphere great selections of drinks. Visited the pub again the next day for a meal before we caught the train home. Waited for a while and the meal was cold. A disappointing end to our mini break.

Really good food, good drinks and great bar! But the staff are rude and not bothered…and the prices are ridiculous! But I must add that the owner is on the point and clearly knows his job! Thank you for contacting me David!

Came in on Tuesday and Alice and Alana were amazing! (Sorry if I have spelt your name wrong) customer service was fantastic and service with a smile! Shame the owner had a face like a slapped backside and couldn't care less about me as a customer! You're lucky you hired those two lasses otherwise I wouldn't be recommending this pub! Thank you for a pint with a smile and for cheering me up girls!

Food was awful! We were waiting for almost an hour and when we had our order the fries and the bun were cold. They also forgot half of the plate (onion rings. Salsa and dill pickles - we order the vegan burger). Vegan patty was super dry too especially on the edges. We also asked for lemon and mayo and we are still waiting for it…… we were surprised that in a pub staff could not suggest a beer…..

I ordered a minute steak which was meant to be cooked Rare & come with Mushroom, Tomatoes & Onion Rings.When I received the order No Onion Rings, Steak was Cold & Over Cooked. Server took away. When dish was brought back the Mushroom & Tomatoes was from the first plate of food I received.My partner ordered Salmon pasta dish which she said was very bland, not much sauce & we expected Salmon to be throughout the dish instead of just being plonked on top.Very Disappointing Meal for the Price, Wouldn't Recommend

What a treasure chest this place is in the city centre. Great staff Dog, friendly, nice seating area and fantastic food. We had the Christmas set menu. So much tasty food. Big shout out to Dean too. Thanks so much! They were my 😎😅

City Tavern is a great bar with excellent drinks choices! Bar hound is a particular favourite 🍺👌 the bar has lovely deco and is a great place to eat and drink all day!

Great place for food. Service a little slow but was very busy. 2 course Christmas menu great value for £20. Cooked very well & presented well. Would recommend a visit. Drinks a little pricey

A fantastic bar and outdoor seating area and tv. The food is also amazing and well presented. Great friendly staff. A great range of drinks also. I have been going to the City Tavern for years!.
