Where do I start.....I had my 70th birthday party here last week (5th March), the staff are very professional, Marcus, the manager has excellent managerial skills and nothing fazed him. Derek on reception is just so very helpful and knowledgeable. Nathan in the restaurant is excellent , very attentive without being in your face. Our buffet food was excellent and everyone commented how good it was. When you have 120 people at a party it is not very often everyone praises the food. I would highly recommend this venue.

Perfectly located hotel in the centre a stone's throw away from the train station and Central metro station. The hotel definitely has character and charm, decor was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms though cozy (read that to mean small) were nice, with modern amenities tucked away in a decor that was in keeping with the theme of the room. There were facilities like a gymnasium and an attached restaurant. I would recommend staying here.

The hotel itself is lovely, staff lovely. Food in my opinion only was mediocre. The room we had was small, outside noise with people making Alot of noise and street sweeper very early on a Saturday morning, however not the hotels fault. If I was to stay again would request a room to the rear of the hotel. Unfortunately our room also disappointed due to high winds the windows and curtains were blowing. Pleased we were only there for the night.

Jack and Amy for the win!I’d heard about legendary Newcastle hospitality … but nothing prepared me for Jack and Amy.These guys were in reception on 25th Feb, and shone like beacons amongst mere mortals.We weren’t actually guests, but weary travelers, passing through.These guys were legends. Jack and Amy, if you’re reading this then you know what you did!If you are reading this, and not Jack or Amy, then you need to seek them out let them know. Although if you do, you’ll need sunglasses to protect your eyes from their brilliance.I’m actually looking at setting up a Fan Account in their honour. But don’t know how.I have no idea what the hotel is like (or the food, which was highly recommended by Jack - which is good enough for me) however if the quality of the establishment matches the calibre of the staff, this is the place to go.

Had our works Christmas party here, the venue was gorgeous on the inside with lots of gilded coving and rich panelling throughout. The host for the evening was absolutely brilliant and really knew how to work a crowd, the staff were polite and efficient, any small errors were rectified quickly with minimal fuss. The food was lovely and what I would have expected for the price, the dessert in particular was lush. Drinks were a touch on the pricy side but generally in line with most cocktail bars in town these days. A very enjoyable evening was had and I would highly recommend it.

Our hotel room was robbed on New Year’s Eve of cash and goods, the hotel staff completely dismissed my wife when she went to voice this complaint. Then myself and my wife went to discuss this with the hotel staff together, they then said they were unwilling to show us any video footage. They also said this has NEVER happened to them before however if you go through the reviews you’ll find that’s false as this exact thing has happened to many others in this establishment. We planned on staying 3 nights but after yesterday and the attitude and shady behaviour of the staff members today after we asked for help in this matter has made us feel very unsafe. We will never return and I would advice to avoid at all cost.

The staff were amazing and so helpful. They made us aware at check in that there was a party on the fist floor and asked if we would like to be put in a higher floor room. We were given a complimentary late check out and even after checking out of the hotel, the staff allowed us to keep out bags there until we were getting the train home. The breakfast was wonderful and I'm excited to stay again in the future.

Had Christmas day dinner at the County Hotel this year. It was excellent. The food was fab, the staff were great, we weren't rushed and the atmosphere was brilliant. I will definitely be back, maybe for Christmas dinner next year as well. I would recommend it. The photos show our nain Turkey dinner course the one without the Yorkshire Pudding is the gluten free dinner.

We had an excellent 3 night stay at this hotel. Location was excellent. Rooms were perfect and it was a great price for the deluxe double room we were in. The room was clean and tidy to a high standard! I want to also mention Marcus the manager who made our stay even more enjoyable by being genuinely interested in what we were getting up to and what we had been up to. It was really nice to just have generally nice chat with him. I would definitely stay here again!

Reception staff were extremely friendly and professional. The room was not as deluxe as it is described on the website and was much smaller and in my view not worth paying the extra. Breakfast was very good but evening meal not so good. Overall it’s a nice hotel and we would definitely stay again.
