El Coto in Newcastle upon Tyne

This was my first experience of Spanish food in Newcastle and the service was very warm, even though my English was not very good. In stark contrast to our last Turkish restaurant (we were ignored and felt treated unfairly).This was a great restaurant.

Absolutely love it here! Amazing food everytime and very welcoming staff. Has a great vibe to the place. A feel of being in Spain 🇪🇸

Homely atmosphere. Fantastic menu. Food tasty! Had a lovely meal, would highly recommend.

Was allocated an extremely wonky table for two in the back corner of the restaurant. That made a negative first impression. After moving to a stable table, the Valencian style seafood paella proved an enjoyable dish.

First visit. Only had one drink in the bar area pre match. Really impressed by the lone bar person who kept the queue at the bar moving nicely, serving customers quickly and calmly. Will have to return to sample the food.

One of our favourite places to eat in the whole of Newcastle. If you want amazing tapas this is the place to come, none of the chain tapas places even hold a candle to el coto.

We got one of the set menus. There was four of us and I don't usaly like tapas because I go home hungry!! But I was very pleasantly surprised. They brought out the cold tapas first and then the warm dishes. Food was amazing and I went home with a full tummy and content having a lovely birthday meal.

This place is amazing and a must go to in Newcastle. The food is absolutely delicious especially the ham. Don't be put off if it looks empty from the street. The restaurant is at the back of the building and there is a fantastic atmosphere.

Amazing place. Staff friendly and attentive. Don't be put off by the empty front bar. The back where the restaurant is, is well worth it. And what a great atmosphere!

Lovely service from start to end! Chose tapas for 2 and added on 3 extra dishes, definitely more than enough! Very authentic and tasty food!
