Another excellent meal. We walked up on a Friday night after having been let down by Cafe Andaluz. Service was quick, polite and efficient. The food was brilliant as always. The atmosphere was a little quieter than usual as it was later in the evening but still very pleasant. For the town centre the food is incredibly good value and good quality. I don't know enough about Spanish cuisine to say if it is authentic or not but it is certainly delicious.A really stark comparison to the much hyped Cafe Andaluz.

This used to be THE tapas place to visit in Newcastle! However things have gone downhill in recent years. When I last visited, they were very understaffed and sadly the quality and the size of the portions had taken the biggest hit.Pimientos del pardon £4.95Calamares a la molinera £6.50Such a shame.

Really disappointed with this place. For the set menu we found the portions were tiny and the majority of the food was below average unfortunately. Normally wouldn’t mind the size of the plates as it’s tapas and there was a wide range of dishes however the quality of the food did not make up for it. We got the bill without finishing, which was a total shame!! Seen a lot of good things about this place so hoping we just hit a bad time

Lovely place and great staff! The place held a great atmosphere, perfect for dining out!Overall a great choice of Tapas dishes, only criticism is that some of the gluten free options contain traces due to cooking contamination, although the staff informed us of this, the choice is then a little more limited. That said all the dishes tasted amazing!!

We enjoyed this place so much we visited twice in three days. The tapas selection was varied, and every dish was really well prepared and tasty. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the staff were really helpful and polite. Will definitely go back when we return to Newcastle.

One of our favourite restaurants for past 16 years. Never fails to give fantastic food, service and a great night. We used to come for dinner as a couple ,now come as a family with the kids . Such great food and staff !

We visited for Restaurant Week. Choose one from each of three columns of tapas for £10. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented and there was plenty to share (generous portions). We washed it all down with the white rioja for under £20. Perfect night, authentic Spanish staff giving suggestions and recommendations was lovely.

What an absolute gem of a place, the food is just amazing, just make sure to go with a party of at least 4 to get advantage of their deals, other wise tends to be a bit expensive, as the food is so addictive you will want to order more and more. The Staff was also great always showing a smile and with the beautiful Spanish accent. Definitely one of my favourite places to go, I keep coming to Newcastle City Centre and keep discovering these in incredible places.

We had a fantastic time at El Torero, For 2, 3 dishes each is more than enough. Overall, the food was really good. In particular we both really liked the meatballs and beef stew. Wasn’t a huge fan of the ham croquettes due to the texture but that’s a personal preference. The waitress was great and kept coming by to check if we wanted any more drinks/dessert.The traditional almond cake was delicious so I’d recommend ordering it if you’re unsure. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Overall the food here was very good, felt as though the portions were a bit on the smaller side for the price but everything tasted great. The service was okay on the most part but could have been better as it was hard to get the waitresses attention to order anything else or get the bill even though it was not busy.
