I can safely say that this cafe is one of the best, if not the best cafe in Newcastle. It brews many types of coffee more than any cafe in Newcastle. I got a cold brew, which was very good, recommended. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very calm and quiet with nice decorations and plants. I really recommend this cafe if you're passing by Newcastle or if you live here.

My new favourite place in Newcastle for a coffee and some food. The celeriac shwarma was unreal, honestly! Perfect place to spend a few hours with your laptop too. Can't wait to return!

‘Flat caps’ is great at all levels: staff, food, and atmosphere.- For breakfast, we took smashed avocado on toasted sourdough 🥑 and Turkish eggs 🥚 - They were all rich and made well.IMO: what is special in this shop is1. Located in a quiet corner in Carliol square2. It is a place where you can bring your laptop and have your works done3. Family-friendly. So, if you have a baby stroller, just ask the staff to help let you access. This is for the disabled too.

Very nice place, the coffee was even better with a lot of flavour, the capuchino the best I tried in Newcastle.Must try the Huevos Rancheros. The Turkish eggs was okay !

The breakfast at flat caps is amazing! I’ve been here 5 or 6 times since discovering it and cannot stop telling people about it. Really tasty sourdough bread, avocado and eggs cooked perfectly. The Huevos Rancheros is my clear favourite (I ask for sourdough instead of the flat bread). The coffee is about a 4/5 in my book, flavour is nice but not as strong as I like it. The atmosphere is great as well with loads of seating and it has warm coffee house decor and super friendly staff.

This is a great little spot with wholesome tasty food options. The brunch and coffee are both exceptional! The service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. They cleared the table regularly and asked if we wanted to order more drinks/food. We spent the morning working in this cafe, as did many others, there was no push back or feeling that we had to move on that you sometimes get in other cafes. We will be back again for sure :)

Excellent atmosphere, coffee and food. Menu has a number of unusual and creative brunch dishes. Definitely will be returning for a third time!

I read that this was one of the 10 best places to go in the North east for brunch. Read reviews and nearly didn't go, poor service I'd read. Decided to go anyway, so pleased we did. It's a bit quirky inside, open kitchen, which I love. We had brilliant service 👏. I had a bacon sandwich and hubby had the breakfast with saukraut and we both agreed we'd be back again. We were there just before 10, good time to go as it starts to fill up, not sure if you can book. Great little find, don't always go by reviews, find out for yourself!

Great brunch options and a good vibe. Due to the kitchen being open and part of the cafe, we did leave smelling of food/grease however. Would still go back though! The Mexican brunch was really good.

Nice looking place, coffee is good, slow service though - coffee was cold by the time we got cake to go with it, sugar not served at same time, Nutella brownie was nice but lemon drizzle was a pile of crumbs.
