We enjoyed a wonderful night's stay in one of their superior rooms. Stunning, luxurious hotel in a picturesque setting, you wouldn't know how close to the city centre you actually were! Excellent facilties and welcoming and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast this morning with a great selection of hot and cold items all served perfectly. Wish we'd had time to try their Fern restaurant for dinner! Would highly recommend and can't wait to return!

The room we stayed in had a very nice view, was very spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, my only criticism would be that the pillows were very soft. The service was amazing from check-in to check out; nothing was too much trouble.

Second time we have been in two months. Food and service brilliant. The waitress looking after us in the conseretary deserves a special mention. Thank you.

Lovely tranquil and beautifully appointed rooms. The room we stayed in looked out onto the wooded area at the back with the sound of the river trickling through, so we left the window open all night and it was very relaxing. The staff were excellent and attentive, especially at the bar and the food in the restaurant was of the highest quality. There wine selection was pretty good too! The only negative was the mattress on the King Size bed was a little soft, so one of us didn't get much sleep, but the other things more than made up for it.One thing you should note is there is a service charge added to the bill when you check out which you can ask to be removed.

Beautiful location, we were in the orangery which was stunning. Great service. Food was lovely, we had a 3 course lunch. Only thing I'd say to improve is to have a vegetarian roast dinner option!

Lovely table in the conservatory area with attentive staff and good wine.Enjoyable food presented in a very acceptable manner but improvements could be made in respect of:Steak for two came on a large plate with sauce poured all over, preference would be sauce seperate. One of deserts came with biscuits simply broken up and piled beside main pudding.Staff were helpful but it was clear there was junior staff as couldn't answer questions from friends and one served my friend soup from the other side of table where he was sitting. It is on the expensive side but worth it for a special occasion.I would recommend.

First class meal and service. The staff were fantastic and the food was stunning. I started with the most gorgeous mussels and then shared the ribeye steak with my father in law. It was a brilliantly cooked piece of meat. Best meal I've ever had in Newcastle

Stayed last night. The bed was awful, hard as concrete. Pillows awful. The thermostat in the room didn’t seem to work so the room was way too hot and had really dry humidity. Just a terrible nights sleep when we were staying to recover from having two kids under two. Staff nice enough, but we were put in the charmless new part of the hotel so had no experience of the hotel we thought we’d be staying in.

We were given the afternoon tea as a gift.Nothing special about this place at all I'm afraid..the usual..parking ok, staff all doing what they should, the place was clean apart for our table top which was sticky ( not food) cleaning chemicals perhaps which was reacting with the varnish... anyway..the English breakfast tea was very good. The teapot ( epns) was water stained from the dishwasher..not a good look. The sandwiches/scones/ cakes were all good..standard stuff. All nice and small and we'll presented. Was it value for money..?Would I go again..?All a bit "Emperor's clothes" I'm afraid,£50 for a pot of tea sandwiches, scone and cake..!!! But if that's your thing..this is the place for you. Enjoy.

Amazing experience. The deluxe room was lovely, especially the luxurious bathroom. We ate at the restaurant where the food was delicious, and had breakfast in the room the next morning for a very reasonable price, which was excellent. The most pleasant part was how helpful the staff are - they will go well above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. Everyone we interacted with made our stay there even better!
