Excellent service, personable, timely and professional. Went for a lunch, busy with a nice buzz, but not too crowded. Food was well prepared, the only "gripe" was too much of it! Plus side I didn't need an evening meal. Overall a delightful find.

Enjoyed the starter and dessert but the main - Yemista Peppers had no flavour at all. Also 3 different server asked the drinks order but it still took so long to arrive.

Went here with my daughter for restaurant week. Tasty food that came to the table really fast. We both had soft drinks that we hadn't seen before and were extremely tasty. Couldn't help noticing the extensive cocktail menu and made a mental note to return without kids. Would recommend

From the moment we stepped in the door the place was warm and friendly, we sat in a window seat and relaxed and watched the world go by. We ordered the meze and it didn't disappoint, the staff were wonderful and friendly, a fantastic way to spend an afternoon.

Food was delicious. Staff seem genuinely happy to be there, you can see they're smiling all the time.

One of the best restaurants in Newcastle. Amazing food, generous portions, cosy and authentic Greek setting, excellent and friendly staff. This place is always busy and it’s really not hard to why. Looking forward to our next visit!

We just called in yesterday on the off chance of a table, the staff said that they could fit us in but would need the table back in an hour. As we knew what we were going to have this was not a problem however when we got sat down the waiter said another table downstairs had become available so we could have to that table for longer (very much appreciated). We opted for the Greek mezze which was served up in no time & it was fantastic, reminded us of the last time we were in Greece. The staff are very friendly and professional always on hand for any questions. The decor looks like a little taverna.I would highly recommend this restaurant but you should make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

We went here on a Saturday really looking forward to it .. The service was great, quick and friendly staff.Drinks were great (beer was slightly warm) but the food was amazing... The starters were to die for and just as we had expected. However when my main came (chicken gyros) I was majorly disappointed. Everything about it was fine but the chicken itself was just so dry it was inedible. I ended up having to pick all the chicken out... My wife ordered a halloumi wrap which was faultless.Overall we would definitely return as hoping my experience with the chicken was just a one off

Fantastic restaurant with a friendly staff & owner. Booked in advance because it was our last night in Newcastle. Visited Newcastle for the first time and loved it all. Will visit again & hopefully have another excellent meal at Kafeneon. 👍🏻👍🏻
