This was a great meal! We ordered the assorted veg and meat platter for two, a cola and a honey wine as they did not have any beer in stock. All of the food was fantastic and a great introduction to Eritrean cuisine. We had complimentary tea and popcorn which was a really nice and considerate plus. I would 100% come back here to try the rest of the menu. The only negative is that as I was recommended the honey wine due to the beer being out of stock; I would have assumed a glass would have been a similar price (ÂŁ3.50ish) however I was charged ÂŁ6, which had I checked beforehand I would have gone for a cola.We spent ÂŁ43 including a ÂŁ5 tip.

Food was absolutely lovely, service was great and it was just a real treat to sit in and enjoy the ambience. Definitely a place to recommend if you have friends that love to share food.

Brilliant flavour, very reasonably priced and fun to eat.

Some of the best food I've had in Newcastle, and such friendly staff. Can't wait to come back!

We picked this restaurant for something a bit novel and it 100% delivered. We had Eritrean lager with their sharing platter for 4 and I think it might be one of the most interesting meals I’ve ever had.You don’t get cutlery, just dosa like pancakes with delicious dishes to scoop up. There was a spicy lentil dish I could’ve stayed eating all night. The card machine was broken so we paid by bank transfer but it should be back working again in a couple of days.

The food was really delicious however there is room for improvement here. The injera was cold and lamb a bit too chewy, however still tasted great. Service could have been better but understandably this is a family run restaurant with only one staff member working the floor. Would highly recommend if you want to try something different.

The food was delicious. I really enjoyed my food and time here. We ordered Lamb dishes. The taste was great. The injera was cold, that was the only issue I found but it was still good and fun to eat.

Wow! Very impressive authentic Eritrean restaurant. This wasn't just food (delicious though it was) - it was an experience. The ambience is superb, and the staff from the family-run restaurant are very friendly and welcoming. The food and drink have some unique flavours. I thoroughly recommend a visit.
