Papa Johns in Newcastle upon Tyne

SHOCKING. I don't usually post bad reviews, especially about pizza as I'm quite easily satisfied. However, this meal was sadly very bad indeed. The pizzas were literally freezing cold, rubbery and DID NOT taste fresh at all. The potato tots didn't fair any better.....in-fact, the only thing saving this review from a 'Null Points' is the fact that the warm cookie dough was pleasant. Oh, by the way, the garlic bread didn't taste of garlic AT ALL... in-fact, we all tasted stiff, rubbery coconut dough. How!?!?!

Made an order at an estimated wait time of 30-45mins we waiting an hour and a half to receive the wrong order even clearly labelled at a different address to ours they then wanted us to wait a further inestimable amount of time for our correct order would really not recommend haven’t got a clue what they’re doing in all honesty staff are very unhelpful really bad experience

My go-to restaurent for pizza in the UK. they have a wide variety of selections in the menu. I would’ve been amazing if they do extend their offers to the drinks as well.

Mediocre pizzas but usually reliable which is why I usually ordered from them. Im not sure whats happened recently but quality has gone downhill and ive just had wait and hour and a half for my food, only for it to be missing things. Had to drive to the store (deeming the whole delivery and ease of ordering, redundant). They also charged me for delivery (??!) which I can only assume was an IT error but didnt refund me this amount despite me asking. I now have to go to Papa Johns to get this money back myself (which by the way is undeniably impossible with their terrible complaints system). After years of ordering from other Papa Johns restaurants, I am closing my account. There's really something not right at this particular restaurant. The "manager" apologised but effectively washed her hands of the issue. Terrible service.

Yummy pizza, pretty good deals. Toppings are excellent! Love the points rewards system (1 point/£4). We like to order more pizza than we would eat in a meal so we have leftovers, that means we build up points pretty quickly. All the delivery people we've had were very friendly.

Ordered £19.99 large deal with drink and side. No side on collection and missing a garlic dip. Seems everywhere you go these days is having a crisis of missing items off your order.

Usually pretty good as far as overly priced priced pizza goes, I mean "paying" almost £60 quid for 3 pizza's....then there's all the wonderful money off vouchers, usually as many to choose from as the somewhat now limited pizza menu.... come on Papa John, just kybosh the discount codes & charge regular pizza prices guys.Okay, I'm not a complete div, so yeah add a couple of quid more than the local chipizza takeaway, cos it is Papa John's after all....so the pizza's are pretty undeniably sublime.Anyhoo, we came to terms (yes, as we usually....thanks to discount codes) & submitted to paying the premium & placed an order, only to be presented with the store's opening times & a "closed" notification, one hour after said store's opening time.No explanation, no change 30 minutes later, and no answer from the phone = no 3x pizza's, 1x disappointed little boy & 2x p'd parents.Yeah ok, there may well have been an issue that prompted the closure this evening, but no explanation / reason on the website & no answer or recorded message on the phone is just ignorant in the age of technological ease to communicate.....a little like this review I guess!

Standard papa John’s food, staff are less than helpful and have no idea what deals are live on there website. Ordered a Xxl pizza online for collection and forgot to order a garlic dip when I asked for one in store I was told they are 45p each but we don’t take cash at the minute and all card payments are £5 or over, when I asked so what do you expect me to do your charming staff shrugged her shoulders and said I don’t know I am guessing you want me to buy 12 dips or order a side to be told that’s up to me what I do. Absolutely shocking service for the sake of a 45p dip I am sure a good will gesture wouldn’t have really been a problem. Terrible service and staff could definitely do with some customer service training.

Great choice of pizzas and sides. Online ordering easy, ready for collection in their socially distancing shop.

Poor and bland. First of all the driver was on his phone and didn't even look at me just shoved the food at me before I had fully opened the door. The garlic butter is nice I will give them that!Everything else is just bland with no real flavour and nothing spicy is actually spicy. They get the order wrong every time and have no idea how to make what's on the menu.Wouldn't recommend...over priced and poor quality with poor staff.
