Nice food & busy "high-street" bar, prices above average but ok

-2-course Lunch deal for £9.95 included a clearly frozen Pizza Margherita (soggy, wet crust). Tasteless, like the £1 frozen pizzas at any supermarket.-The starter of potato skins with garlic aioli was made fresh and okay.-Absolutely no mask-wearing by staff or customers walking around the tables.-Staff coughs, sneezes, and wipes nose with hands and then prepares cutlery for customers.

First time I ve been in this pub for years and years. Obviously it's all been done out and under new ownership. Nice place to stop off for a few pints. Nice friendly staff good atmosphere and a good choice of drinks. Didn't have any food but what I did see of it and speaking to a couple thst were eating it seems all good. Probably try the food next time I Pop in.

Very nice pet friendly pub. Didn't eat this time but have in the past and the steak was fantastic. Very reasonably priced food especially on specials eg 2 burgers for £12. Would recommend a visit

We held a session of our book club in the room above the bar, as it was a bit if a celebration. We ordered some food, talked books and other stuff, and had a really good night. We liked it so much we think we might hold our next session there! Staff were fab.

Lovely atmosphere, great food well worth it for the price.

Really nice place for lunch! We'd been getting Sunday lunches delivered for a while now from here so thought we'd try an in-person midweek lunch and it was worth the trip!Their current lunch menu is 2 courses for £10, and worked out cheaper than just getting a burger off the main menu. There was a good selection of dishes and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted nice. I would definitely recommend the potato skins- massive portion, crispy and seasoned well.Really friendly bar staff and service was quick and efficient, will be back as I want to try their 5 dishes for £20 menu too!

So it’s Eat out to Help out, and the Queen Vic Gosforth cares more about ramming tables in than it does about social distancing between tables. They’ve also increased menu prices by £2 per item since lunchtime when I viewed the menu (I mean Rishi is paying a tenner after all so people won’t miss £2)... and they aren’t giving anyone info to fill out track and trace, or asking anyone use hand sanitiser on entry. They could at least have washed the knives properly you would think.Shame on you.Edit...Having said all that, I can't fault the food at all. We both had burgers and they were absolutely beautiful and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Just a shame they're not complying with social distancing etc.

Great atmosphere. We went for dinner and ordered from the eat out to help out menu. Crazy deal, we left full and very satisfied. Food hot and very tasty. Portions are good and the service very friendly. Highly recommended

A nice change to see that the queen Vic has got a bit of life back. The upstairs restaurant is well worth a visit it's only a small menu so the chef can concentrate on the food what we had was cooked to perfection only down side was the table at the top of the stairs gets a bit noisy. Well done to the staff
