Sea Palace in Newcastle upon Tyne

The food is delicious and authentic. DIMSUM variety are OK and menu list, wow ... all are chinese food. Willing to come back in the future.

Visiting Newcastle, we were looking forward to good Chinese food. We were not disappointed at Palace Garden. The food was excellent and arrived quickly - always a bonus when eating out with kids. The menu is very long and could be off-putting. Our strategy was to order a range of different dim sum plates to share amongst the table. I'd recommend this approach as we got to sample a larger range from the menu.

Visited here on sunday before a football match, the place was quite quiet so we assumed we would be served quite quickly etc.Not to be im afraid, we had to wait about 15 mins and then stop a waiter to ask to take our order.When we did order the food came out in any order, spring rolls during the main meal etc, not ideal.Then we had to stop another waiter to actually pay the bill.On a positive note the portions were large and it was good value for money, only let down by the service.

Amazing for Chinese food. Quality is great and consistently good especially dim sums. Sometimes it very hot and miss in many places this place has the best consistency when it comes to dim sums. If you love Chinese food and din sums then for sure come here and visit. 👍 Thoroughly recommended.

Wasn't a fan.Quite a long wait for the food (which we were in a large party so slightly understandable, though an hour and a half was excessive) only to then order a satay which for some reason came loaded with pineapple which i'm allergic to. Being in a large party and having already waited long enough I just ate the chips that I ordered on the side and gave the satay to a friend (which he said tasted nothing like a satay).Reason for the two star rating is that the staff were polite and I do understand we were in a large party, however, it's not somewhere i'd be in a rush to visit again.

Last time we went here it was 12+ years ago, its still going. They were understaffed due to part time students returning home but still got good service and tasty food. Not a bad choice, still, to eat here.

Lovely food and mostly good service. My partners soup was cold. He sent it back twice. This was followed by apologies from the manageress and several of the waiting staff, and accompanied by a significant reduction in the bill. They did all they could to make the situation right. The food was very good. We would certainly go back again.

Nice interior and good quality food

This place is an institution. Excellent dim sum menu, and you can get some real classic dishes here - not just for the lemon chicken brigade, though they are well catered-for as well. Staff are really friendly & the prices are reasonable, which is always pleasing too.

Went here for graduation dinner night! Table of 10 for my Malaysian family and they were very pleased ! Chris the manager was so welcoming and went out of the way to accommodate to our needs. The owner of the restaurant is lovely as well xxx definitely a gem ! 💕 it's rare to find authentic Chinese/Cantonese restaurants nowadays due to the influx of mainland Chinese restaurants (which taste completely different!)
