Indian cuisine isn't everyone cup of tea. However I had a friend who was Indian and I got to like his style of cooking. Anyway try it yourself you may well enjoy the experience.

We were quite a large group, but we ordered well in advance from a limited menu. Except for our group, the place was totally empty, yet the service and food came out a bit cold and was overall fairly poor. It's not like we were taxing an already busy kitchen.

Might not be the most trendy of restaurants in Newcastle but if you want a tasty authetic curry and something other places don't do this is the place. I would highly recommend the south Indian chicken curry. Lovely friendly owners and staff

I am not usually a one to write reviews but I have been to shiraz three times now and felt I needed to let people know off this beautiful Indian restaurant. Out off the three times that I have been, never once have I been disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing! by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to. To start with you get complimentary poppadoms and dips which always go down a treat, with my friends and work colleagues. From the food to the customer service, always excellent!! a definite must try if you haven't already! cant wait for my fourth visit, all ready and booked for next week, cant wait!

Amazing. Vegetarians will love this place- any chicken on the menu you can ask for quorn instead. Meal was cooked perfectly and all food was delicious. 100% will be going back.

What a find! I thought I knew what good curry tasted like until I visited Shiraz on a recent trip to Newcastle with my Wife. The food was in a completely different league to anything I have had in the past and quite frankly I am not sure I can eat Indian food again without comparing it.Great food, great service, great value... I just wish I lived nearer so I could eat your food more often... (or maybe send via the post!)I would wholeheartedly recommend. Hope to visit you again when I am next in Newcastle.
