Silk Room Restaurant & Champagne Bar in Newcastle upon Tyne

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff attentive, and the food was fab. My wife won’t stop talking about her dessert! Thanks to David and his team. We will be back soon.

The food and service were first class but the restaurant was chilly. When the door opened it was positively freezing. The screen they'd put up at our table, which was opposite the door, kept falling onto us. It was a little expensive too. Overall, I'd recommend it, but make sure you don't book the table opposite the door if it's a chilly evening. The staff are fabulous and we had a great laugh with the sommelier!

Lovely atmosphere, calm and relaxed with professional staff who know their job, but also like to have fun with guests. Food and wine offers excellent value as the quality of both is high. Definitely be eating here again!

Very poor. Food was bang average and very dark and gloomy. Went for a birthday and was promised drinks on arrival and happy birthday with candle on desert as a surprise. None of this happened and was oblivious to any requests promised etc.

Delicious food. The service is excellent. My partner and I had dinner at the Silk Room for a birthday celebration. We'd hoped for a nice night out, but the staff at the Silk Room made sure our dinning experience was turned into a very special occasion.

Having previously enjoyed a faultless meal and service at the Silk Room, myself and my partner visited the restaurant again recently before a show at the nearby Live Theatre and were once again blown away by the quality of food (and drink) on offer. If you can clock off work at a reasonable hour, their early bird menu is great value (3 courses for £18.95) but the a la carte is where the magic really happens with a mouthwatering selection of starting boards and great fish and meat main courses. You honestly can't go wrong here.

Have been here several times over the years for the Xmas menu. Always been a treat and I don't recall any of our large group having any complaints. Would recommend a visit.
