Snackwallah in Newcastle upon Tyne

Excellent tasty and spicy hot vegan food.Chilled ambience.Oddly, a customer nearby praised the food but the recipient staff member just walked off, looking embarrassed.I do not understand that but hey, people are odd.I love this place and will call again.

Disappointing experience, expensive food served in paper plates (looks v cheap / or for a kids party) and food portions are super tiny. Also, we ordered drinks with our food, and the chef forgot to make them and when we prompted them about it, they did not even apologise about it and looked almost annoyed we asked for the drinks we had previously purchased. The lassis were expensive and served in a tiny glasses, for that price in other Indian restaurants you would get a full pint! Also, the lassis had a couple of ice cubes so there was barely any drink, I understand the drink has to be cold but perhaps do it in bigger glasses? I'm editing the review because the owner got back to me and apologised but did not explain why drinks and food portions are so small. Won't come back.

This place was a revelation and we will definitely come back cos the snack of pani puri was fabulous! Other dishes looked great too and I chatted to another couple for meal suggestions when we next come!

Very authentic Bombay Street food in a great location in Grainger market. Try the samosa chaat and nimbu paani. Or gol gappas (panipuri or phuchka depending on where in India you have been) if you are adventurous.

Nice food and friendly staff. Quick service. Could maybe branch out into vegetarian meals which would improve it. Bit chaotic queuing and slow on cleaning but I guess it was a busy Saturday.

Average food, the masala chai is served is instant tea, so below expectation. I was served a bitter tea and when asked was said it is the left out last bits so strong or call it bitter.

A delicious spot to grab lunch. Everything tasted incredible. I got the Samosa Daal and the Pani Puri. Worth a visit.

This place is not for anyone who has ever tasted good indian street food.Chole chaat was served as steamed chickpeas ( served chilled)with chopped onion,tomato and coriander leaves with a few drops of yoghurt and tamarind sauce.had to bin the plate.Bhaji wrap was tasteless to say the least.Samosas tasted far from a real samosa.Indian cuisine is not every chef's cup of tea 😬

Delightful and interesting food….the perfect lunch?!We visit weekly and are trying different dishes which are always fresh and of brilliant quality. The service is warm and familiar, we love this place! Thanks Snackwallah

Absolutely love this place! The food is as close to the chaat I could possibly have in all of Newcastle. Some of the indian restaurants in Newcastle can’t match up their Bhel puri and pani puri to that of Snackwallah. Thanks to them I don’t miss chaat from back home in India. Keep it going! Highly recommended
