Cracking characterful pub. Comfortable, clean with friendly, efficient staff. Menu is varied and we really enjoyed the tasty well presented food. Totally enjoyed our overnight stay. Wished we could have stayed more than one night so we will return.

Lovely food, portion size a bit questionable though.

Excellent place to stay. Room was a good size, very clean and tidy, had everything we needed and reasonably priced. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive.

Never had a bad meal here, free parking, hotel on site and a great place to come anytime of the year. Beer garden/outdoor eating in summer and working fire for the winter. Always friendly staff.

This is the 2nd time my wife and I have been to this fine restaurant/ Pub and have nothing but praise for it. The staff are very professional and friendly and the food is excellent. Brilliant value for money.

My first stay at the snowy Lodge but I doubt it will be my last.The main bar and restuarant car park is also the hotel car park.I found it best to drive right around to the back car park of you staying in the hotel as its easier with your bags and closer to your vehicle on those cold mornings !Check in was via the main pub entrance and at the end of the bar. After a few minutes i was off with my key and into my room.I requested a room near to the car park was duly given the first room upon entry.I was a bit worried about possible noise but this proved to be no problem during my 3 night stay.The room itself was clean and very cosy with plenty of space other than the shower door entry which is restricted by the adjacent toilet pan ! .I mentioned this because it could be a problem for the 'bigger' person as the door only half opens ..Initially I found it restrictive but sussed that dry skin sliding across dry glass is not a good match.The next shower I had I wet the inside of the glass door and which enabled me to enter like the shower area with far less hassle ..but it is not ideal for the 'bigger' person and maybe needs to changed to a folding shower door or alternatively the size/ position of the toilet pan ?Other than lubricating shower doors, the bathroom was fine and modern. An alteration of the shower head spray gave me a very powerful shower which was aided by a pump.The bed was a bit too firm for me but not to the extent where if badly affected my sleep.Tea / coffee and kettle in the room with a decent sized flat screen TV.During my stay I had roast beef Sunday dinner and a cooked breakfast.The roast dinner superb long with my order of extra potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. The ice cream afters was nice and good quality although a bit steep in portion size for the price !The wait for the breakfast was around 30.minutes despite only one couple.waiting before me and upon arrival it was hot and decent. The orange juice was not great and too sour.The bar area is nice with a good variation of beers and largers.The waiting staff remove the gratuity to from the card machine before payment which is thoughtful, so cash for tips would be needed if your that way inclined.Overall a good value for money stay with very friendly staff in a good quality location .Looking forward to my return with either the loss of some timber or the changing of the shower door scenario beforehand !

We called in for a quick bite and found the place was just the way we like. Good food, very pleasant servers and a good selection of real ales.

Had a lunch with friends. Good choice on menu, well priced and service was excellent with friendly efficient staff. Will be returning again soon

Very friendly chap checked us in ,explained about breakfast rooms clean had dinner at the restaurant staff amazing and meals great selection and couldn't fault them Would definitely stay again and would recommend snowy owl

1st time we've visited this pub and thought it was absolutely lovely. Well set out and spacious and fabulous food. Would highly recommend 👍
