One of the best local "proper pubs". Lovely space, great selection of drinks, and decent bar food. Sunday lunch is not to be missed, especially if the weather is good enough for it to be enjoyed in their secluded beer garden by the river.

10/10 food and service, kitchen very kindly replaced a sunday roast at a late hour of the day after I discovered I was allergic to part of the meal. Above and beyond service there, great beer and smiley bar staff every time.

Nice place for a drink & a meal especially the Sunday dinners. Good mix of people and nice atmosphere. Beer garden is nice in the summer aswell. Definitely would recommend anyone to.pop in for a drink and a bite to eat.

Great bar serving good quality food. Prices are fair and there is a large beer garden available. Been here to watch the live football a couple of times and there is a pool table available too.

Such a sweet environment, perfect for family gatherings or a chilled student night out. Lovely food! I highly recommend the apple crumble. I'm not a native northerner but after having the bluebells potato skins and gravy I might have to convert!

Lovely classic pub, with bar games like pool and darts and has 2 quizzes a week. Popular with uni students and is dog friendly. Drinks are quite expensive but food is delicious and cheap.
