The Denton in Newcastle upon Tyne

Decent pint of Guinness at an OK price, sat outside (hence 3 ☆ rating as can't say I looked about anywhere, nor had food or any other drinks).Seats were OK outdoors but due to location, quite a bit traffic about (but it was a nice sunny day so didn't matter, although for some it might).Would happily get off the bus a couple of stops early to have a drink in here though.

Good beer friendly staff, prices fair. Never had the food but looking good and not too expensive.

Been to this restaurant many times , it’s clean and welcoming . I even had a Xmas meal here . Ive enjoyed every meal until this last Sunday lunch . There was nothing wrong with the meal it just left me flat . It was just a meal you could cook at home . Gravy should be separate my husband dislikes a lot of gravy on his meals and as the gravy was put on in the kitchen he was given no choice in the matter . Overall disappointed

Went in on a Saturday night. Ordered food on the app. Waited an hour but no food came. Went to complain, they said it was too late and we wouldn't get our food. We would get a refund back to our account in 2-3 days. 7 days later no refund. Had to go back into the pub AND SHOW MY BANK ACCOUNT TRANSACTIONS to get a cash refund on my order. To be told sometimes the refunds don't go through on the app. Disgrace

So the minute I walked into the Denton I was rudely stopped and body shamed by a member of staff who wears glasses glasses and has a a scruffy beard and the funny fact is was he is the same height as me but he looks about 50. He said to me that “no kids are allowed in here” and he singled me out amongst my friends and says I look about 12 just because of my height I did proved him with ID and he continued to smirk about my height. I definitely won’t be coming back here again because I am self conscious about my height and I only wanted to have a nice time with my friends and drink with them but I am sick of getting body shamed!

Had Sunday lunch which was not to my liking. Although there was a good portion of meat, my roast potators were hard, also parsnips and the food was not piping hot. However, the other people in my party had no complaints.

The starter was good, the pud was good, the main was dreadful. The beef was tuff, the roast potatoes were hard, the veg were dreadful and all swimming in gravy..a small jug of gravy separately would have been better. Will not be returning.

It was good. The house red was pleasant. The Merlot was better. However it would have been more economical to buy a bottle.

Good atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The food is good too. Would of got a 5 star review but they don't have a jukebox, they do play music though so just a personal preference
