Amazing burger, excellent service from team (although manager who seated us didn't seem too happy about it). Also got a shake, can't wait for the Glasgow venue. We were a group of 11 on Saturday 12th Feb.

Tempted by the menu for this place as the photos looked insane! The food did deliver exactly as the pictures looked, but maybe we weren’t hungry enough as both meals seemed excessive! The taste and quality was great but after a while it all felt too greasy. The salad wedge although a simple item was absolutely delicious and needed to cut through the rest! Worth going but make sure you have an appetite

Okay.We had a booking for 8 people and were told only when we arrived at the restaurant that they had no beef burgers tonight. They eventually got replenished during the night and we got served 1h after placing order. We would have liked getting free starters or small discount for the inconvenience but nothing. Food overall good but if we had known we would not have waited so much and we would have gone to five guys instead, it was not worth all the wait. Staff friendly but could have been more customer focused.Atmosphere and decoration was good.

Nice Place, down stairs in a cavern but with outside umbrella seating, large portions, tasty food, particularly enjoyed the frickles. Had a variety to choose from including for the veggie vegans in our party, managed to fit us in on short notice party of 6 at 8pm on a Friday evening. I think the beer pricing was too high for 330ml cans, and although it was an eclectic mix of beer it was not our cup of tea.

Insane food and great staff. This place is a must visit and I am sure all Fat Hippos are the same. You won’t be disappointed. Portion size is huge, so do feel you need to order loads. It is a very popular establishment, so ensure you book in advance.Top Tip: the Cheese Balls are nothing like you’ve tasted before. A must have

Would highly recommend grabbing a burger here as it's definitely good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. Portion size is good. Would recommend trying the dirty fries if you have a large appetite and can handle some spice.

We’re usually very satisfied with the quality of food at Fat Hippo. Therefore, we’ve decided to try something new, their Halloween special - the Shreddy Krueger. The burger didn’t look anything like in the pictures shown on the website; it wasn’t very appetising, and I felt like there is something missing, perhaps some sauce or ingredient because the burger tasted a bit plain. We’ve ordered sweet potatoes and again, we were very disappointed with the quality; not very appetising, the fries looked like they reheated them inside a microwave. However, it was a Friday night and the place was busy, so my judgment is that the kitchen staff was under pressure. Despite all of this, I’ll visit again, because I like the place, and the Wild Bill burger always tasted great!

Ordered home delivery from deliveroo as we really like the burgers from Fat Hippo. Burgers and fries were top notch but we were very disappointed with the milkshakes. £8.80 for two half empty chocolate milkshakes which basically just tasted like nesquik. Really disappointed with the quality and quantity. I have had better milkshakes from a supermarket for a fraction of the cost. Definitely won't be ordering a milkshake from here again.

I am so glad I found this place, I Absolutely loved my order (chicken burger with loaded fries). The outdoor seating area is nice during the warm summer days. Service was good and I did not have to book in advance. On the other side I do think it’s quite pricey for Newcastle.

Quite literally the best burger I have ever had!Whilst visiting family I spent the day in Newcastle and they took me down some dark stairs to what turned out to be the most incredible little resteraunt I've been to in a long time. The staff were helpful and cheery and attentive and the place had very good air conditioning, and considering it was the hottest of the year so far, was most welcomed. The born slippy burger was moist cooked to perfction and screaming out with flavours! The superfries me upgrade for the fries that come with the burger were a little over indulgent but amazing nonetheless.I would and have highly recommended this place to anyone who enjoys a fancy burger with all the trimmings.
