great selection of drinks, brilliant food and lovely buzzing atmosphere. would certainly visit again.

Had the greatest pleasure of visiting the Old George on my recent visit to Newcastle for my sons graduation. We were made feel so welcome being visitor’s to the town , the food was excellent and have to say the staff were very attentive would definitely have to mention Ryan, Oli and Hen for showing us a very good evening in the bar and keeping us well supplied with drinks. Good job guys thanks can’t wait for my next visit cheers x

Very welcoming place staff are very friendly polite and professional and very accommodating. Good choice of drinks and has sky multi room making our visit very enjoyable watching F1. Definitely recommend a visit here. A big thank you to Lilly, Ash and Sarah who looked after us all day 👍. Looking forward to going back.

My friend from Finland and I enjoyed a lovely meal on Thursday (Dec. 9). I can thoroughly recommend the peri-peri chicken. What I've always liked about the OG is the warm atmosphere, largely down to a very friendly staff. The service is excellent.

This pub has gone totally down hill.Went in for pre drinks for my fiancées birthday.Drinks prices kept changing despite buying the same and less, the prices didn't go down but up.Tried charging for a generic ale £5.70, they said it was a craft beer, it was not, I complained and got £1.00 back which they took out of the tip jar to make me feel bad.What really did it was my partner is pregnant so she isn't drinking but ordered a coke on the last round.She noticed something in her drink and it was the nozzle from the coke tap in the bottom of the glass, I used to work in bars and these get dirty and don't get rinsed throughout the day.I complained again, the 2 women who were clueless about the pricing had left thankfully but younger lad understood and sorted put free round of drinks, this person was the only saving grace of the pub.On a side note this pub is aimed at students now so expect lots of them , not the older crowd you used to get also thd toilets are still disgusting after these few years, if you need to go , go to the next pub, no lock on the gents upstairs and someone had urinated all over the toilet roll on my second trip to the loo, awful.

Absolutely outstanding service and hospitality from all the staff at The Old George: want to say a massive thanks to Erin, Oli, Corey, Dan, Henryk, Nuts (love that name) 😂 and Wendy but especially Andrea who didn’t go the extra mile but went an extra 500. Massive thanks from all the lads from Northern Ireland for a hugely enjoyable experience: we’ll certainly be back some time 😊 💙 ❤️
