Visited for a Fern Brady gig (she was brilliant) & I was really impressed with my first visit to The Stand.Seats are not allocated when you buy tickets & are first come on the night. As I am disabled I need to know that I can get a seat on the night, I contacted the Box office & they reserved a table for me. On the night the guided me down using a lift & the seats were near the disabled loos. Great service. Drinks were reasonably priced. The whole evening was a great success.

Came here on a staff night out - never been to a live comedy gig before! It was great with everyone being super friendly from start to finish of the show. Such a safe and welcoming space for established and new acts alike, great drinks selection and helpful staff.

·

Brilliant night my partners first time at a comedy club and loved it will definitely be back! Guy introducing the acts was hilarious!!

Lovely intimate venue. From small time, amateur comics to nationally famous favourites, The Stand hosts them all.Bar is reasonably priced for the City center.Only gripe is that they do have a tendancy to squeeze slightly too many people into the basement. It would be excellent if there was maybe 15 less bodies down there as it is a little cramped.Other than that, it is very much the place on the map for the stand up scene in the North East.

It was a revelation to visit the home of stand up comedy in the North East. The comedy, drinking and food is all exceptional. An essential pilgrimage for those visiting Newcastle.

Brilliant night out. We went to the Wednesday night gig, which was like an open mic where you see loads of new acts. Audience was friendly and kind to the acts. Bar was ok 10 pound for 2 drinks isn't bad. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We will be back and would rather do a Wednesday as if you see 7 acts chances are you will like 5 of them.

·

Great venue for comedy. Intimate, cellar room with a great view of the stage from most places. Bar prices are fair and service quick. Stool seating at the back was a bit tightly packed but the tables at the front were better spaced

·

Such a fun night for an extremely reasonable ticket price! The comedians were hilarious and the staff were so welcoming. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to spend their evening doing something a bit different!

·

Spacious, bar is great, staff good too. Comedy factor depends on who you're going to see. They could do with a little revamp as it feels like you're in a place frozen in the 80's. Still clean and tidy though.

This was our first visit to this establishment and we enjoyed every moment. The show was in a downstairs industrial style function room with stage and bar. ALL staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and helped make this a most enjoyable visit. Covid -19 precautions we're in place with staff ensuring patrons adhered to the rules. Although this was our first visit to the venue it won't be the last and can certainly recommend it to others at for a visit. 🙂👍
