Lovely time at The Town Wall celebrating my friends disabled son being offered a place in the special school they always dreamed of. Jean-Pierre the bar manager was a delight.Only downside is they need some blinds for the very sunny windows! 🤷‍♂️

Always inviting atmosphere, top lagers, ales & ipa's. Food great and service spot on!

Popped in for a couple of drinks on an afternoon off work. Great atmosphere and service.

We had a small room off the bar for 8 of us for Sunday lunch. The food was lovely, presented well and was hot and tasty, including the vegetarian option. The service was great, very responsive without being over attentive, excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend.

When I visited here, I was pleased with the greeting I received from the bartender. He was friendly and the drinks my party had were nice. It's a very nice place with lots of space and character, and I love how dark and atmospheric it is, especially on a weeknight. I know weekends can ensure the place gets pretty crowded and hectic, but that's just fine for most people.I will definitely go here again. One of the lovely places of Newcastle. I also like how you can't tell what the place is like from the outside. You have to go inside to appreciate this place!

Lovely pub in a central location . Nice range of beers served very politely. Great for Sunday roast !

I loved this place. I'm in a wheelchair and needed the portable ramp to get in which was brought straight away by a lovely friendly member of staff. This pub has a lovely friendly atmosphere. When we were leaving the ramp was brought straight out. The staff are lovely and friendly, nothing is too much trouble x

I was dining at 'the town wall' this evening when I noticed bar staff using glasses to scoop ice into the glass, and not using proper ice scoops or tongs.When we received our tap waters there were pieces of glass in the water. We only realised there was glass in the water until we had drank it.I went over to the bar to complain to the manager but when at the bar I over heard two colleges joking about "Are You Trying To Kill Our Customers" which was very rude and disrespectful.We did complain to the bar manager who was more then unhelpful and did not apologies until I asked him to. And when I was at the bar speaking to the manager I could see that other customers were continueing to receive ice in their drinks.We were not at any point assured the ice had been disposed of or the problem was being delt with.After speaking to the manager we paid for our bill and left. One of our guests had a panic attack outside and I can feel pain in my throat.The situation was not delt well by the staff or manager and I would like there to be a full investigation and the bar staff to complete health and safety training. Including how to safety make drinks.Not coming again.

Dog friendly.Love this bar! Class joint. Really smart inside, great staff and draught samples a plenty to assist in choosing the perfect pint for you.Huge sofas to collapse into after a busy day shopping/on the sauce.Great place. Will definitely be returning next time we’re in Newcastle.Part of the Wylam brewery chain of bars.
