Tyneside Bar Cafe in Newcastle upon Tyne

A very comfortable cafe, excellent customer service, clean and lovely ambience. Also shares same building with Tyneside Cinema.

Stumbled upon this breakfast spot. Pretty good, reasonably priced.

Good food for most. Nachos weren't great but they changed them without charge. Service was good. Worth it for brunch.

Super yummy brunch / breakfast, loads of healthy options and a build your own breakfast bowl option, they even have protein pancakes! Super friendly staff too.

Service very slow. Food was 50/50 my wife's was good smashed avocado mine breaded chicken sandwich was poor not what I expected. Coffee good my beer!!! Not sure, maybe my taste buds were off.

Very chilled out place. Great selection of food dishes which have something special about them. Good selection of beers, spirits and great coffee.

Extremely nice food that was genuinely impressive. Customer service was okay, however, I think it could be slightly better / more professional. It seemed a little too casual. Other than that, really nice experience!

Well, what a morning we've had. Firstly absolutely no service at the Olive and Bean and even worse service at the Tyneside Bar Cafe. We had tickets booked for the Tyneside Cinema for a 12.05 movie screening. . So after the Olive and Bean disappointment, we thought a coffee and something light would be no problem as we were already on the cinema premises. We arrived at the Tyneside Bar Cafe at 11.15. Firstly we were asked if we had booked a table. The answer was obviously no as we would be watching the movie at 12.05. I explained this to the blonde woman who greeted us and that we just wanted to grab a coffee and snack.We were told to sit at a table which was reserved for use from 13.30. Only table service was available.. so we sat and waited for some service. Only a drinks menu was on the table, but no food menu's . So we sat a bit longer, whilst people came and went. Tables around us were cleared and wiped , but still no member of staff came with a menu or offered any service at all. Time was moving on and we were feeling totally ignored. Eventually we decided that we had waited long enough and it was time to leave and would rather walk in the pouring rain to Greggs for a coffee and cheese pasty . Only when we stood up at the table and put on our coats did a member of staff approach us and ask if everything was alright. We told her that the service was terrible and we wouldn't wait any longer. ( We were served immediately and sat at a table in Greggs in Eldon Square and made it back to the Tyneside cinema for the 12.05 movie)

Good, but small, cafe bar at the side of the Tyneside cinema. A surprisingly large range of spirits as well as beer, soft and hot drinks. Seating space is pretty tight given the nature of the building. Some outside seating with heaters. A good alternative to pubs and bars in the evening or for a pre cinema drink. Limited food menu with pastries and cakes available. Worth a look.
