Succulent and crispy roast duck. Big portion with affordable price, wish it came with some sort of sauce or something. Edit: taking this from 4 stars to 5 stars. The perfect food after the gym.

·

Brilliant price. Brilliant flavours. Brilliant vibes. Asian food that doesn't taste like it came out of a bottle which is annoyingly hard to find. A proper little gem with friendly and attentive staff to boot.

Wing Kee (Hong Kong Style Cafe)@ Chinatown, Newcastle Upon TyneBeing introduced to this spot by a friend, we were looking forward to getting food similar to home. This restaurant happens to be one of the few that serves Chicken Rice/ Duck Rice while having the meat displayed through glass panels (like back at home in Malaysia).🥟With a wide variety of Dim Sum, we ordered the chicken spring rolls and also the chicken feet in black bean sauce. The spring rolls were crisp and nice. The chicken feet was surprisingly delicious and spicy! (I’ve never tried chicken feet before in my life, so this being the first time was actually pretty cool)🍚 We ordered Chicken rice and Duck rice. The rice was oiled and seasoned nicely. The chicken, while being on the dry side, still was enjoyable. Portions, as always, are so big that I couldn’t finish my meal and had to order a takeaway.Complemented with Hong Kong Iced Milk Tea, the meal was really filling. The milk tea was lovely! The meal costs 27 £ for the both of us. Pretty worth it, especially for such a hearty meal!

Order the right items from the menu. This is the closest you can get to authentic Hong Kong food in the UK.

Decent food for a fair price! Went there with no expectations, except for having authentic food, which was fulfilled. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even recommended dishes according to what we were hungry for. He even pointed out that things could taste different to our westernized taste buds (too salty/ too spicy/ etc). They also offer take away (most restaurants in Chinatown don't.

Dinner here to celebrate my daughter’s offer of a place to study Medicine. It was late so Chinatown was near our hotel (Premier Inn Newgate) good option. Restaurant served Cantonese cooking ( localized for British palate) - so I would not say dishes are 100% authentic. But food is tasty and good prices. Recommend if you have craving for Chinese food and rice.

Delicious Hong Kong food at reasonable prices. At £6.95, the lunchtime special is particularly good value. Otherwise, you can also order a selection of one-plate meals of meat/fish, vegetables and rice for £7-8 anytime. You can also order a la carte dishes as in other Chinese restaurants, but again, they're very good value compared to the other pricier restaurants on Stowell Street.I would particularly recommend the traditional Dim Sum selection, which is delicious.I lived in Hong Kong for several years and the food certainly tastes authentic to me. Clean surroundings, friendly staff. Excellent selection, even includes traditional HK street food. I like this place very much, and would definitely recommend.

Roast duck noodle soup with preserved vegetables and a Jia Duo Bao herbal tea - perfect hangover cure and relatively inexpensive compared to others in the area. Tasty food and great service. A little outdated, but didn't bother me; I came here for the food, not the decor. Would definitely return.

I popped in here a few months ago with the kids for some noodle soups. The soups contained a mountain of noodles and fresh veg, topped with a very generous heap of the most delicious duck/pork for about a fiver a head. We were stuffed and it was good stuff. Heading back there for more today. Ambience is unglamorous and somewhat retro in an early 80s cafe sort of style, but that's forgiveable considering the high standard and nice price of the food.
