Barca Art Cafe in North Tyneside

Beautiful cocktails, amazing kitsch decor and good atmosphere. It's a little on the cosy side but it's one of my favourite bars in Tynemouth.

A jazzy wee bar with a great selection of drinks, fab music and lovely staff.

Bit pricey for a double around £6 but good atmosphere nice night

Went for my brother's wedding breakfast and reception. Food was fantastic and the venue is a really quirky place. Look for the toy soldiers on the ceiling!

Excellent bar with a refreshing selection of beers. Probably the best in Tynemouth. Disappointing venue for live music held recently.

Interesting ideas. Good vegetarian offering.We turned our starters into mains, the portions still felt a bit mean.Given they they were quite salad and sauce heavy some bread to go with it would have helped.It was busy but it felt a bit phoned-in.At the end we had to ask for the bill 3 times. The same girl even asked us if we wanted the dessert menu 2 minutes after we had asked her for the bill.She brought it over, put it on the plate and left. No engagement.We felt we might as well get up and pay.The food was OK but the service poor.Felt more like an inconvenience.

The music is too loud for Tynemouth. Very disrespectful to residents and turning the village into something that resembles the Bigg Market. Their customers leave after 1 AM being very loud.

The food here has always been good and the service is impeccable. Great decor and a fantastically eclectic music play list!
