High House Farm & Brewery in North Tyneside

Popped in Saturday for a drink and something to eat, after checking online which said no seats for meals until evening. Went for a walk and went into the bar and the only table has a reserved message on with 3 times and names on from 12 to 3pm which were still empty when we left. walked to the empty restaurant area (all but 2 tables empty) asked for a table and were very abruptly sent back to the bar area. We had 2 drinks each after locating a table all the while (an hour later) only an older couple sat in restaurant area. Server was rude and food choices very limited and expensive so walked to M&S for a meal deal half the price and lasted for 2 meals. My message is if you want something done properly do it yourself 😊With restaurants like this I can see their demise.

Lovely food great Sunday lunch and good service

Normally an amazing sunday dinner. Today I'm not impressed. Dinner came with water on the plate from u drained Cabbage. Broccoli barely dipped in water. Nobody came to ask if we would like any condiments for dinner nor later ask if everything was OK. Plates cleared from table again nothing asked of everything was OK even tho a lot of food left on plates. Wasn't even too busy. Service very poor today

It is a fine pub for a drink but the food is quite bad. I had the asian style salad which essentially looked like they opened a pre made salad bag, added loads of sauce and put it on a plate. The popcorn chicken was very bad quality frozen fried chicken. Also the menu doesn’t include all the ingredients the plate has.

Lovely food, quite quiet. Good social distancing. Pleasant attentive staff. A little chilly to start with but soon warmed up. Definitely going back.

Disappointing meal today. Had the traditional turkey dinner. This consisted of a bed of cabbage with a couple of slices of turkey on top. 2 roasted potatoes 2 pigs in blankets, spoonful of red cabbage and a piece of broccoli, couple of sprouts. Oh and a circle of stuffing. 😔I normally really enjoy the food at this place.

We came to the shire farm with our autistic son for Sunday dinner as we normally do and they know that we don't like a table stuck in the middle of the floor and mores to the point, right next to a bin which I think is highly unhygienic. As a regular customer I would expect a bit of a better seating arrangement

Food was exceptional. Beautifully prepared and presented with very healthy portions. However, pricing on the menu is very misleading. Clearly states £13:95 for Roast topside beef, but with £1 supplements for 2 or 3 courses, so would expect to pay £14:95 for two courses. No, the staff say the supplement refers to “topside” as it is premium cut. Then why does it not have a separate price? The main banner on the menu shows 2 courses at £15:95. However, the bill pushes it up ti £16:95 because of the supplement. It’s only a couple quid, but from every customer, that’s a ripoff on a grand scale. Not happy.

Beautiful place lovely outside seating areas too. Food was amazing and a nice range of foods on the menu. Had lunch here I will definitely be back for an evening meal and a few drinks. Staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and all covid rules were in place
