It was ok. Ordered fish and chips but they had ran out, then ordered a burger but also ran out so settled for the dressed crab platter and a Sunday roast. Both were nice but nothing special considering the price - you could put the crab platter on a single plate if you got rid of all the grass.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Enjoyed the Fish Pie.

Multi-alcoved hostelry, newly and stylishly decorated (lighting echoed Tynemouth station with pools of light) with outside seating along Front Street. Greeted warmly, order taken swiftly and coffee made on the turn. Just as I was wondering how long my food order would take, three plump crumpets arrived, pipping hot with softened butter and a pot of raspberry jam (yay!! seedless!). Gentle Samba beat music in the background that I didn't wish they'd turn down! An enjoyable first visit...I'll be back for an average-priced Eggs Royale...

A well run and spacious pub/restaurant. Excellent food, including a welcome Vegetarian menu. Staff friendly, attentive and cheerful, which makes such a difference. A great spot, we will return.

Our starter was adequate. After a long wait our main courses arrived. The fish pie was dry but the chicken was an abomination. Chicken itself would have doubled up as a shoe sole. The sauce was practically non existent and extremely salty which made it inedible.vegetables shrivelled. None of the staff came over to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Eventually a waitress came over to clear our table. My husband pointed out that his meal was awful. The waitress apologised stating that they had been too busy to come over earlier as they had a large party of diners in. The manager came over. Basically said we had been asked if our meal was ok by his staff as they had told him this was the case. Suggested we had over salted food ourselves. His attitude caused other diners to feel uncomfortable we did too. We paid our bill in full including an overcharge on the drinks as had been made to feel embarrassed. I left feeling extremely upset. We live locally and had looked forward to our meal as have always enjoyed the Newcastle restaurant. The attitude of the manager was atrocious. Customer service at its very worst.

Nice coffee. Decent cake. Scones were dry though. As from their drinks menu there is a strong focus on Gin, perhaps that is not too surprising.

·

Fantastic service this morning and the food was fantastic, buttermilk pancake was incredible. My wife's order was wrong but they sorted it within minutes. Will definitely be going back.

After visiting Tynemouth station market, went in for some late breakfast. Excellent choice of food. Not massive portions, but lovely food. Tempted too pop back for a Sunday lunch

Very friendly but not disabled friendly yet..Nice cocktails and lovely staff, they offered us table service and even brought us the card machine but sadly I couldn't even use the toilets as there was not yet a disabled toilet available. I had to be helped from a tiny cubicle from a girl who was a carer. Without her help, I'd still be sitting there now. It would also be lovely if they adapt their front entrance so we don't have to enter via the bins...

Nice bar, not a lot been done since Hugos but they've added a few booths. Killed the footy though taking out the screens. So not be going there anytime soon on a match day
