SGF in North Tyneside

We went for Sunday lunch. The food was ok and there was way too much veg , enough for 4 people.I was told that the roast came with roast potatoes even though it doesn't say so on the menu. They actually turned out to be undercooked jacket potatoes cut into quarters.The big let down was the service by untrained scruffy staff. We had to go up to the bar to ask for accompanying apple and mint sauces and salt.When we got the bill I was very surprised to see that the actual prices of the meals and bottle of wine were higher than the menu prices.I mentioned this to the young girl serving us who just said it's not her fault, it's the management's problem.This was not the correct thing to say.I was going to give a tip as I always would, even if the service isn't 100%, but I decided in this case to not leave a tip at all.BEWARE.... THE PRICE CHARGED ON THE BILL IS HIGHER THAN ON THE MENUI'M SURE THAT THIS IS NOT LEGAL.I will not return

Went for a meal last night booked the Valentines special it was disgusting the prawns in the prawn cocktail were raw the vegetables with my cid were stone cold the cod was dry the steak was very average the chips had been cremated no steak knife offered no finger bowl was given even though you had to take the shell off the prawns from surf and turf although the young waitress was very apologetic no senior member came over to our table our friends had been in an hour before us (we had recommended this place) they had lobster (£20 additional cost) they said it was disgusting!!! Overall a bad experience and would definitely not go back as the whole experience was rank

Booked a table for 5 for a 50th payed a £25 deposit, 1 of the group tested positive for covid Charged £5 for that person not able to attend DISGUSTING!! Ordered a seafood banquet £65 it come freezing cold we expected fresh cooked food asked for no oysters to be replaced with something else they just took them off nothing extra added toilets filthy smelly seat falling off i will not be returning

Sunday lunch at its finest!Delicious belly pork roast dinner today along with a pint of neck oil.Other meal was a chicken in a roll. Chicken was a little dry, but came with plenty of gravy and the bread was good.Little seasoning needed on the vegetables though that is personal preference. Belly pork was very nice and crackling was tasty!Photos do not do it justice.High chair available. Doesn’t take American Express, couldn’t find the baby changing!!

Been the once but wasnt disappointed. Great food and service. Was also able to get a great shot of the tyne while i was there

Food exceptional, we had the langoustine platter for 2 and the mussels. Absolutely delicious and great value of money. Will definitely return

Nice atmosphere. Food was nice and best of all was the cheesecake . So light and fluffy

I've been wanting to go for ages after being highly recommended by family and friends. Eventually got there and it did not disappoint! The beef brisket hash was amazing! The staff were fantastic and service was brilliant. Can't wait for my next visit.

Sunday dinners here are fantastic, we had the pork it was a big portion with a lovely bit of crackling. Plenty of veg all cooked really well with a naturally rich tasty gravy. Second time around I had the steak, it was over cooked and the Wine was a little exspensive but the Onion rings couldn't of got any bigger, tastier with a crispy bite. The specials are worth a look and can be cheaper. Fish down the Quay is second to none and this comes through down here from boat to plate. You can pick a Lobster from there tank this will cost approximately £40 upwards. This is only going to go up in ratings and I look forward to going back. Plenty of parking, clean toilets, friendly staff.

Excellent place for amazing sea food and alot more, very nicely done out with great views out on to the quayside with great staff. Would highly recommend a visit to friends and family.
