Wow. Fantastic fresh produce. We shared 3 starters of crispy squid, oysters and chowder. Each one was fantastic. The squid and oyster where fab. The staff were super nice too

Took a little diversion to try the Fish Shack having heard good reports. In a great position in the working harbour of Amble, a perfect spot to watch all the comings and goings.A really excellent fish selection, locally sourced and couldn’t be fresher. We had the sharing seafood platter, which was first class and we stretched it between 3, with some extra chips!Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff, would advise booking as it does get very busy!

Had mussels 4 times in different restaurants and here was the best. mussels were cooked perfect in wine and cream sauce full of favours . Scallops on black pudding sweet and tender.Seabass was juicy cooked to perfection. A little pricy but worth the visit.

Lovely little sea food place right next to the harbour side. The Chowder and squid were both delicious. Plenty of seating outside if you haven't booked a table. We loved that it was dog friendly, as we now avoid places which don't allow furry friends! We had a few starters for lunch which was just enough. Staff were very friendly, I will definitely be back.

Visiting the Fish Shack was the highlight of my day: cute little restaurant with delicious fresh seafood. I went for the Amble langoustines in a tasty broth as a starter (so fleshy!) and continued with the grilled sea bass, house salad and some of the best chips I had in a long time (I'm dying to know what potato variety they used). Well worth our visit and friendly staff. Booking recommended. Even Harrison Ford loved this place.

It's lovely, the fish and chips are lovely. Beer batter was lovely and crispy and proper chips. You can sit out side with a amazing view of the harbour. Staff nice to. Definitely be back again

Food was fresh, and absolutely delicious. Couldn't ask for more than a steaming pot of mussels and a beer on a cold day. We had our meal in one of the huts outside - which come with cushions, blankets, and] a heater, and we completely forgot about the wind whipping outside! Hard working and polite staff. All in all, a really wonderful little find.

Great food today at The Fish Shack, we had langoustines for starters from the specials board and fish and chips both done perfectly. The portion sizes were impressive and surprisingly large for the price listed. The only detractor was that our online booking requested a highchair for my infant son, this had not been accounted for but was soon sorted. They were however very accommodating, even sorting a small bowl of mushy peas for him.We are very happy we found this place and are planning to come again with family in the near future.

Amazing amazing amazing.. everything was amazing. I have anxiety issues and with the help of a local friend, my partner booked a table perfect for my needs. The quality of the food was only surpassed by the view from my seat. An homely feeling within a quirky venue, which is right up my street. I can't wait to go back!

I had seen the Fish Shack on the tv show “The Hairy Bikers Go North” and they rated the place highly. How right they are, great sea food dishes are plentiful, I had the Chowder which I would thoroughly recommend to you. The shack is very nicely laid out, not over fussy but warm & inviting. We managed to get in without booking but if you don’t want to miss out on a truest memorable meal I would suggest you make a booking.
