Beales Cafe in Northumberland

Fantastic views and setting. The restaurant itself is modern and bright but service is slow. We arrived when it was very busy and there was a sign saying that they were short staffed but even then they there were several basic errors made. And don't order the artichoke sandwich. Apparently it comes with one very small artichoke. Very sad looking. Kids food and fish finger sandwich were good but overall there are better places in the area.

Excellent food, great place to meet old friends. Friendly, helpful staff but very slow service, which suited us. They were short staffed at the time and adjusting to a new till system. Would recommend

Tried to book for lunch, told don't do bookings, first come first served. Next day arrived for lunch, restaurant quiet.,but service very slow. Staff seemed more preoccupied with cleaning tables ignoring customers. When my wife's burger arrived it was clearly uncooked in middle. Staff response was "we cook them pink in the middle". No apology. No discount on bill. As my wife said, "an expensive portion of chips!" sorry, nice location, poor service, won't be returning.

Whilst our scone and coffees were nice when they finally arrived, waiting well.over half an hour for them with no apology for the slow service wasn't good enough.We saw a few couples walk out having got fed up of waiting for simple orders and lots of customers chasing up orders that were taking ages to arrive.Quite a few of the wait staff were milling around not doing much when they would have been more usefully employed behind the counter helping out with the drinks orders.The cafe should look to the National Trust as a model for how to run a cafe. Scrap the table service and having to ask for the bill, redeploy the wait staff to behind the counter plating up ready made food and making drinks and get things moving much faster.

Really nice surroundings with fantastic views over the sea to Holy Island. The restaurant tself is well laid out, with one third designated dog friendly. The outside seating area is divided into private table areas, which is a nice touch.The staff were very polite and helpful. The only criticism is they had started to runout of bakery items.Access for the unaided mobility limited and wheelchairs user is very good. Although the car park is compacted gravel/ chippings which could cause some issues with manually propelled wheelchairs.This is a great placed to wait for the causeway to open to the Island.

We stayed here for two nights in our camper. Stunning views of Holy Island and ideal location for cycling over when the tide is right. The site was very peaceful when we were there. We cycled across to Holy Island twice. Visited Lindisfarne Castle (National Trust) which was excellent. Two negatives for the campsite : no recycling facilities, and a high price which means we probably won't stay there again (we paid £30 having booked and paid deposit in February, price is now £36) which is out of our usual budget price range. But as one off treat to enable a cycle ride to Holy Island it really is a beautiful place to stay.

Stayed 3 nights at the campsite. Great location, truly amazing views across to Holy Island, clean facilities, and the icing on the cake - the cafe/restaurant serving delicious breakfasts and lunches with those views across to the island through the big picture windows. We arrived on a Sunday and enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast. Big shout-out to the dedicated staff who were very welcoming, efficient and professional. Can’t wait to return in the future.

Always wanted to visit here and it wasn't a disappointment. Sat outside as our dog is a bit of a grumpy old man! Staff were friendly and efficient, we had sandwiches, chips (scrummy chips), cake and a pot of tea which came quickly ... all with a fantastic view

Small campsite with nice flat pitches with beautiful view of Holy Island. Facilities were modern, clean, and spacious and had plenty of hot water. Bar and restaurant were superb: ambiance, food, beer, and friendly service.

Came for some lunch with the family. Food and service was great. And we weren't disappointed with the cakes we took away for later. Lovely little park at the side for the kids to run around. You can sit both inside and outside. Was a little chilly so we opted for inside
