Really good, we sat outside as we had the dog with us. They had some glass gazebo so we didn't get wet.

Came to Tea on the Train today. This site shows photos from Tea on the Train, but is NOT the correct place. The website needs changing to be accurate and not take business from Tea on the Train!

*** now located at Bellingham Golf club ***Food was absolutely fantastic, ordered a bacon cranberry and brie Panini, came with crisps, fresh salad and dressing, got a side of chips for the table, quite possibly the best chips I've ever had, sat out on the decking outside the clubhouse In the sun too.Staff were lovely and chatty, defiantly recommended!

Brilliant use of the carriages. Lovely staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. Tasty breakfast, even swapped items to suit my tastes.

This is probably one of the nicest places that I have been to in a long time. The staff were absolutely lovely on the afternoon that we went and I am so pleased that we made the effort to go.The homemade afternoon tea was so very delicious and every thing tasted absolutely fantastic. This is the best place!

We'd have given it 6 stars if we could! Ham salad & quiche salad - home made ingredients (that was very obvious) tasted superb.Staff were friendly, attentive and service was very quick.Got to stop for a sweet (reviewing whilst eating!) but have no doubt that it will be as good as the meal so far!Oh, nearly forgot - dog friendly as well!

The Carriages Tea Room was an absolute delight. We actually were there to collect a Christmas gift, an amazing bag of goodies (home made Christmas Cake, Mince Pies, Gingerbread, Chutney, Marmalade and Apple Jelly plus a voucher for two cream teas for when the Carriages are allowed to re-open). But while there we had takeaway coffees and the most delicious paninis ever! The carriages is such a quaint place - we can't wait for them to re-open so we can return!!

Found this treasure accidentally and so glad we did. Had a lovely lunch in a converted train carriage - nice staff and brilliant surroundings!

Not a place for luxury dining, but wonderful for a quirky experience. Carriages is a small tearoom in ancient railway carriages. The surroundings are cramped and a bit cluttered, which adds to the quirkiness, and the seating is fixed so no option of moving chairs around to accommodate more at a table, and no room for high chairs or wheelchairs as the layout is as ia railway carriage, but the service is lovely and friendly and the food is excellent, served nicely, and reasonably quickly - which was good considering the time limit of a one hour working lunch break. I will definitely return next time I’m in the area.Access for people with limited abilities is severely restricted and there were no accessible toilets evident. However, that apart, the whole experience was lovely.

When i was little my mam and dad would take me every weekend if it was sunny to Whitley Bay on the train- consequently i love the coast and trains! It was sunny today but not warm and occasionally raining but loved visit to this tea room made from old train carriage. Nostalgia and great cakes were evident and Sunday lunches made me sad we'd brought sarnies for our walk up to Hareshaw Linn. Will return for hot food soon! Was a little chilly so coat didn't come off but was warmed by friendly staff and tea😄 also have small exhibition in front of train and you can sit in the driver's seat and ' drive'😃
