Centre Of Britain Hotel in Northumberland

Above and beyond all the way. Just back from an overnight stay at the Centre of Britain Hotel. Lovely clean room, very rustic and steeped in history. The staff of this hotel are the 5th star in this review. They are so friendly and accommodating; nothing was too much trouble. They went above and beyond at every stage to make us feel welcome, including making my 8 year old feel incredibly special. Can’t thank them enough and look forward to a future return.

Magnificent giant room, with dining table, three piece suite and two children's beds in addition to the king bed for us.Nice view of the town from the window and the breakfast vegan and vegetarian cooked perfectly.After a long winter walk up on the moors, with a windchill of -3°c the jacuzzi steaming hot bath was great, with room for a pint on the side , reading a car magazine.One secret that we learned from the kitchens via the waitress was how to fry tomatoes correctly and suitable for a full English or Scottish .Great staff especially the cleaner who has a great sense of humour.Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel with great history and located to see so many things. Haltwhistle is such a beautiful town full of history and friendly people

Great hotel, we had a family room which was on two floors, plenty of space. We stayed over the laundry, which we enjoyed only three rooms there. Wifi hit and miss, second day couldnt connect at all.If you book breakfast you have to go outside and into the main hotel not to far to walk less than a minute.Car parking is a squeeze.Breakfast was amazing, fabulous quality, and plenty of good choices. Staff very attentive, and there when needed, no matter what time of day.

Staff are excellent, rooms a good standard.....jacuzzi bath room even better . ..we hit an issue on the morning of departure and staff (David maybe?) went way above and beyond to help us. Not every place or person would have done. I've stayed here before and will again

A beautiful hotel with absolutely fantastic original features. Spotlessly clean and rooms are stunning. Very attentive and professional staff and great food. Very highly recommended.

Stayed for 1 night in room 8. Hooks at back of bathroom door lose and do not hold towels up to dry. The large hook for coats at the back of the main door was on the floor when we arrived this needs putting into the wall with better fixings. Room was very clean. Bed super comfy and we both slept well. Easy to find and parking behind the hotel was a bonus too. Breakfast was average, Sausages were under cooked and the eggs were poached(which were lovely) but water all over the plate. Bacon was very fatty too. I would recommend but we were disappointed with the breakfast this would have been 5 stars had this been better

Me and my family stayed at a local campsite last weekend. We'd promised the kids a full English breakfast on Sunday as it was Tyler's 10th birthday. We went into the town center and found that all the cafes were closed. The boys were very disappointed then my partner suggested we ask if the hotel would allow us to have breakfast. Even though they had just finished serving the lady at the desk told us to park the car and set up a table for us. She couldn't have been more helpful. The meal was amazing and the staff even came out with a cake and candles to sing happy birthday to Tyler. This was definitely the highlight of our weekend and we can't thank the staff enough. Thanks guys

Haltwhistle's fine dining experience. Delicious. Unfortunately we were the only people in the restaurant - although they had a group in the private dining area. Let's hope more people come as the summer progresses.

We had four rooms at the hotel and we stayed for two nights. Each room is bursting with character. The family room in the main hotel was a hit with the kids. It is huge with its own dining area and eight of us had a chip supper there on our second night. Our room had a sauna and jacuzzi. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfasts were lovely and selected from an extensive menu. The service was excellent.The location is smack in the centre of Haltwhistle and close to places to eat. Parking available.A wow with our group and highly recommended. We'll stay again if we are in this area.
