Dukes pantry in Northumberland

We were celebrating a 70th birthday for a dear friend and wanted a special dinner party for 8 people. Having heard positive comments about Duck House Pantry, I contacted them and had several initial conversations with Melissa, who makes the bookings and sorts out queries and then a personal phone call with Jack, who was to be our chef for the evening. Melissa was helpful and quickly responded to each contact I made. We chose the menu and discussed with Jack a few additions which he was happy to make.On the evening itself, Jack arrived exactly at the time he'd set. He was friendly and professional in his manner and I felt completely happy about leaving him to get on with things. He had come with semi prepared dishes and reassured me he would sort everything out in terms of using our oven and finding things he might need that I hadn't previously left out for him.With regard to the food itself, we were all delighted with how attractive was the presentation and how delicious it tasted. Each of the 3 courses was superb. We had previously chosen from two options on the starter and main courses on the original menu, so there were separate dishes to serve to the eight of us. These were well managed time-wise so we could all eat together. Jack judged the time to give us between each course so we didn't feel rushed. At the end of the meal he made tea and coffee while he cleared up the kitchen. He handled everything professionally and unobtrusively.I'd have no hesitation in recommending Duck House Pantry to anyone wanting a special, at home event.Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for catering our daughter’s christening celebration. The food was outstanding and all our guests commented on how delicious it was. It was so lovely to have the stress taken out of the catering. The whole process was very easy and thank you for being so accommodating with all our allergies and dietary requirements. Totally fantastic catering company.Catered for my daughter’s 40th birthday celebration at our holiday house at Craster.Amazing choice of A la carté menu options, including a very special 3 course Vegan dinner for 2 of the guests, and Pescatarian choices for another guest.Jack the chef worked to a time that was best for us (with a 1 yr old baby). He was extremely professional, capable and friendly.I would thoroughly recommend them .A truly memorable way to celebrate a special occasion in the comfort of your own surroundings, and exceptionally good value.Thank you so very much to The Duck House Pantry for a night we shall always remember.

Fantastic tea provided by the Duck House Pantry for my mother's 90th birthday. Delicious food beautifully presented with edible flowers decorating the little cakes. Sandwiches and home made sausage rolls very good too. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the tea. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed the best afternoon tea I've ever had from The Duck House Pantry. It made the ideal birthday treat. Great mix of sweet and savoury- so much food that we had a couple of sweet treats left to enjoy the next day. Highly recommended.

After being let down at short notice by an alternative chef Jack came on board and made my 30th and my mums 60th. He was lovely to deal with and very attentive. He blended in seamlessly to our setting and provided us with a fabulous 3 course meal. It seemed the kitchen was left even tidier than he found it. Would absolutely use Jack again! Thank you.

We had the Chateaubriand experience for two as a lockdown birthday treat. All food prepped, easy to follow instructions on how to cook at home. Would highly recommend and will definitely order again... the triple cooked chips are the best we have ever had, best takeaway/dine in experience!

We’ve just had the most delicious dine in meal delivered by Jack. Excellent reheating instructions, ingredients of the highest quality all seasoned and cooked to perfection. Twice baked cheese soufflé, fillet steak, treacle tart. Sounds simple? Yes, except that each and every element of the food was gorgeous. The steak was spectacular, quite the best we’ve had for a very long time. Served with delicious dauphinois potatoes, roast vegetables and a lovely red wine jus. In lockdown when we can’t eat out, this is a wonderful treat. Highly recommended.
