Been twice to this hotel. Love it. Best of all we can take our 🐕

Very particular place, quiet and beautiful landscape. Staff really friendly and welcoming! Due to a energy power cut due to issue with national grid we had an afternoon/evening without electricity which contributed to create an even more special atmosphere with candles, fires and a dark sky. Everyone has been really nice!

We loved Eshott Hall! There were some issues however the overall experience makes this a 5 star visit.We experienced a wide range of things offered:Afternoon tea wasn't great, however staff made a big effort to rectify an issue.I recommend using better quality gluten free bread for sandwiches and scones; scones are too dry and the bread was a bit too dry as well.Kudos to the kitchen who receified the sconesOur room was clean, in great quality and very comfortable, we loved it!Suggestion is to have faster internet speed for the smart TV.Dinner was DELICIOUS! Kudos to the kitchen.Breakfast was lovely too.Some staff members need training in regards to allergies; after stating I had a gluten allergy I was given normal bread as a starter.For breakfast I was given toast which was toasted in a birthday toaster. Luckily I checked on both occasions.Staff are very friendly, welcoming, lovely and helpful.There is a library, with a bar serving drinks which were great.

This is a relatively small hotel in a country Manor house, somewhere between a large country hotel and a small boutique one. It's difficult therefore to judge it by either standard.Our room ('luxury') overlooked the walled garden and had a good modern bathroom. The staff were warm and friendly, the room had been prepped to my requests and room service was very rapid.Dinner the night before was limited (4 starters and desserts, 6 mains) with very few options for vegans and veggies. Fortunately the choices on offer were excellent for us, though far from hearty - I would recommend 3 courses. I had a main, dessert and cheese, which provided a good variety of local produce and they were happy to refill with crackers etc to enable us to finish it all off.The 'continental breakfast' was cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit, which felt a bit underwhelming in the August surroundings of the ballroom. Our deal included a hot menu breakfast , I'm not sure if some guests only get the continental, it seemed strange to distinguish between them unless this was the case.Checkoit was quick and easy, and the manager made comments about our stay which indicated that she had 'noticed' us, despite only staying one night.That night was a Sunday, with a special deal. Even with this discount, there wasn't quite the wow factor to give the hotel five stars, because we still paid a hefty sum.After we checked out we visited Druridge Bay, a beautiful beach with a country park and a ruined preceptory - the hotel and beach together made for a lovely stay.

If there were more star options we would have rated them higher! We stayed over Christmas Eve/day/boxing thank you so much we had the most amazing time and everyone was so friendly. All the added touches were superb and our 6 year old daughter loved the place and was very spoilt and fussed over which she loved! We’re so grateful the lovely staff worked over Christmas. A big thank you from us xxx

Had a wonderful afternoon tea there recently with a friend. Beautiful place, roaring fire, wonderful staff and amazing surroundings.

Lovely 2 night stay here. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The food was lovely all be it slightly over priced. Afternoon tea was definitely worth it though. Everything was pretty clean apart from our room, we didn’t sleep amazing as there was cobwebs in the corners of our room and I had to remove about 5 spiders before we could even settle down. I know it’s that time of year but they must have been in there a while as there was cobwebs. Other than that the room was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Again the staff were so friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating when checking out. One other thing though when we booked directly through the website it asked if we had any comments or requirements so we filled that in but it didn’t even get through to the hotel.

The venue is beautiful, rooms are great. Food was an absolute disgrace. The food my son and his bride tasted before the wedding was nothing like of what was served at the actual wedding. My advise to everyone, if you want to use the venue for a wedding make sure you take your own chefs with you, so you don't pay thousands for food worthy penny's. Chef had no idea how to cater for vegetarian and vegans. We had sauces for dinner on the night before and for breakfast for 2 days. Over cooked and the cheapest one can buy. Highly disappointed 😞

We like older hotels especially country houses that have been adapted. This hotel fits the bill exactly. Our room was in the stable block and was spacious, well equiped and with a very big, newly refurbished bathroom. The food is very good we'll cooked and prepared. We had what must have been the biggest roast dinner we have ever had and it was excellent. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order with the usual choices associated with hotel fare. The staff were pleasant and helpful with humour and knowledge. So, why only 4 stars? The answer is no beer. The bar only stocks brown ale, no bitter, no larger, not on tap or in a bottle.
