Golden Harbour in Northumberland

A very busy takeaway restaurant, and with very good reason. The food is excellent. We have had many dishes from the Golden Harbour, and always they have been first class. There is no scimping on the quantity, or the quality. When you do order your food you will find that patience is called for. Believe me, it’s definitely worth the wait! You’ll find that quality isn’t a quick turn around and you’ll not be disappointed.

Excellent takeaway food. We ordered chicken and sweetcorn soups, sweet and sour king prawn balls, lemon chicken and beef chop suey and all were absolutely delicious. As good as anything we've had in China towns etc. Could not fault the freshness, quality and flavour of the meals a d plenty of meat and prawn in the dishes. Highly recommended.

We have given this takeaway quite a few seconds chances to redeem themselves as I'm a big believer in 2nd chances and everybody is entitled to having a bad day, but unfortunately this takeaway has let its new to the area (so I'm a none bias customer) customer down,So 1st impressions inside its not very clean at all stains up the walls and on thier ceiling panels looks nasty ,2nd the staff customer service is absolutely shocking very rude phone manners all round iin here,3rd thier listening skills are really bad I have some dietary requirements and I've let this takeaway know every time we have orderd and everytime I've been promised something that did not happen and it ultimately ended in me paying for food I just couldn't eat,4th when complaining to this takeaway they offer you things like money off your next order or that your next meal eill be free next time you order, but when we remind them of this when ordering next time, they say things such as aw the boss is not here or ah sorry I dunno,Then tonight even though I'd been promised compensation from my last bad order basically when they totally disregard my dietary needs, we have rang and rang the takeaway tonight to place an order about 20 timest no answer on thier phone, but it stated on Google its open and as we are new to the area we rely on Google maps toknow what is what,So tonight due to living in a rural area busses aren't the greatest and us not owing a car and not having food in the house to eat due to needing to restock the fridges hence the takeaway option have now nowhere to eat and have no local connections at all in the area to even be able to try and get a hot meal for tonight so honestly thank you again golden Chinese at the harbour for letting your customers down time and time againThis time we will not be returning and we wouldn't recommend ypu to anybody we know personally as to be honest also the plastic container that you put a hot curry into makes it very sweaty from all that condensation build up and makes the curry really watery and hard to eat too !A big a shameHonestly worst experience from a Chinese takeaway I've ever gotten from this place I'm so disappointed and feel foolish for believing the lies from the management about being compensated for what they had done last time we orderdPlease if you have any dietary requirements at all, be very very careful when ordering from here ,AsI wouldn't want anybody getting ill or having the same treatment I have received from this place just because I have dietary requirementsIf they can't even have thier up to date and correct opening times on Google where they promote thier buissnes then I fear for what else they are getting so Wrong?Hope my honest explanation of the service I have gotten helps you take care🙂

We visited twice during our holiday. The food was ready fairly quickly and we all enjoyed it.

Awesome! Had lemon chicken and curry sauce 2 times now and its really good! The chstomizations are really cool because if i dont like lemon sauce i can switch it for curry. on my way for my 3rd lemon chicken and curry sauce now!

Went here last week for curry and chips, was spot on - everyone enjoyed it, good service and being well managed around corona.

First and definitely last visit to this place. Ordered King Prawns in Black Bean Sauce with Fried rice. Ended up with a bowl of, kindest description, Rice Soup. Brown tasteless liquid with onions, green peppers and fried rice floating in it alongside 6 king Prawns (admittedly prawns were nice).

After trying for days to ring them, when there was no sign that they were closed, I finally tried the food. The batter was not cooked, still doughy on the inside which made me feel sick. The "orange chicken" which is literally slices of orange and slices of chicken with a way too sweet of a sauce was just terrible. The only good thing about the food was the boiled rice. I'm gutted, been told that this is one of the best Chinese places near by, far from it in my opinion, never tasted one so bad.

We tried the Golden Harbour Chinese Takeaway last evening and were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the service. There are chairs to sit on while you wait or you can do as we did and visit the pub next door for a leisurely drink, once again very friendly. We returned at the time we requested to collect our order and they were bang on time. Now to the food.......It was delicious, very hot and plentiful but not just that, the menu was so different to the run of the mill menus we expect from takeaways around the country, good though they are.From the outside it looks like any other small time takeaway but believe you me the food is big time and could compete with any big city restaurant food wise.In a word " Excellent "
