We had enjoyed a meal at Grants a couple of years ago so getting the chance for another visit was a bonus! Unfortunately it has changed hands so we were unsure if it would be as good again! All I can say is it was a big disappointment, for an establishment that charges top prices you would expect nice modern surroundings ( not the case) and food to relax and wow you! (Definitely not the case)Starters- I had the chilli king Prawns which were served very chilly as in straight from a very cold fridge! My girlfriend had Scallops again not impressed by them! The bread served was underwhelming as well tiny slices with a oily dip !The main course really disappointed as we had both ordered Duck breast, on arrival it was clearly undercooked and you could see blood in the meat and juices, we ate some as I hoped that it was maybe how the dish was supposed to be! Upon Googling duck it definitely was undercooked! We mentioned our concerns to the waitress who was very good and immediately went back to the kitchen and informed the Chef,In most places you can expect them at least to pop out and say something to you but not in this case! She said it was the way it should be and that’s it!We didn’t have dessert and paid our bill and left!I don’t think we will return!

I liked this restaurant, the decor is a amateur, pictures, plants and a little clutter. Sad to say they do not do cocktails. The food, on the other hand, was really really good. I would go back for the food. If the place was spruced up it would justify a 5 star. Food is 5 star!

As a business traveller eating alone you can feel a little out of place but I felt most comfortable eating here. The service was friendly but not intrusive and I sat quite happily reading my book between courses. I plumped for the cheese souffle, duck breast main and finished with a choccie fondant. All cooked very well and very tasty. I actually asked for bread to soak up the gravy on my plate after the duck as it was so tasty! Well priced and recommended when in Penrith. PS sorry I had no cash to leave a tip, I'll address this on my return.

Had an evening meal at Grants very recently and all I can say is wow! The food, scallops (starter), trio of pork (main), lamb (main), cheese (dessert), chocolate fondant (dessert) were all cooked / prepared to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious. What was really lovely though was, unlike some establishments, we didn't feel rushed through our meal. There was a nice gap in between courses which meant we could really enjoy our meal and social experience. Just a wonderful place which I will return to when I'm next in Penrith.

We called into Grants early on Saturday evening on the off chance of a table for two.We were greeted by a lady who quickly rearranged a table that was set for evening service and seated us.We ordered drinks and perused the menu.We ordered the fillet steak and a trio of pork which were beautifully presented and tasted amazing- cooked to perfection!I would recommend booking to ensure you get a table as it was very busy, we will be back!

Just visiting Penrith for a few days staying at the George Hotel this was the first place we found and decided to just book and eat here had no real idea what to expect, the great reviews are spot on and not an exaggeration. The food here is really good. Can't fault the tuna ( which I had) and the lamb was perfectly done.If you are around eat here!

Highly accommodating and enthusiastic staff. Excellently presented food which tasted sublime. Prices I think are reasonable against what you receive in service and food quality.

Beautiful meal at Grant's tonight. I went for the sea bass which was amazing and served with very nice veg and the potatoes were absolutely delicious (no idea how you can make new potatoes so tasty!). Can't wait for our next visit!
