What made paying £6 for the quarry car park at Craster worthwhile, was the superb offering from the Pipers Pitch . The Auchtermuchty , Kipper Sandwich, tea & coffee were all excellent , coupled with very friendly service .

Fantastic food and a very warm welcome from Andy, we come here every year. The food is freshly made and Andy and Lorna are very friendly and my wife and I have been coming from day one, (we live in Knaresborough North Yorkshire) and come caravanning every year to this area. Hope to see you in June 2022.

This place is a gem! Amazing burger. The kipper skin for the dog went down very well too. Highly recommended. Proper food! X

Read about this in The Guardian.We were in the area so decided to take a detour to visit.Was difficult to find parking on the huge carpark at the side but it was the school holidays.Very friendly welcome from the owners.Ordered Kipper sandwiches & cheeseburger.Both were prepared freshly by the owner as he chatted to us.Very reasonable prices, friendly chat & great food is just what I like.Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Very happy to have stumbled across this. Loved the kipper in a bun and the haggis & bacon. Friendly service, cooked in front of us and a few tables outside in the sun to enjoy it. Great lunchtime treat!

Superb Craster kipper in a bun, veggie burger type vegetarian option, hot chocolate, just over a tenner.Ok they don't do cakes, but you just can't beat a Robson's kipper..shame they don't have a liquor license though, those kippers really deserve a single malt accompaniment.Cheerful and attentive service lots of space, very good outside Covid-19 compliance, (hand sanitiser, plenty of space, clear queueing strategy, card payment..no problem) they'll be really busy soon though, so might be worth ringing to check they haven't sold out if you're going April onwards..

Craster is a pretty little village, Dunstanburgh Castle is really impressive, then when you get back to the car park you see this small haven. Try the Craster kipper bun (after walking past the smokehouse up the road!) and Auchtermuchty (haggis and bacon - match made in heaven). Delicious. Pipers Pitch is a fabulous little cafè, staff very friendly and food delicious. Good prices too (two substantial sandwiches with a tea and a coffee £10.70).
