Fantastic little find here. Alan and his staff were very friendly, chatty and welcoming. Can totally recommend this place. The rooms are clean, quaint and well appointed. This is a great pub stay

We had a lovely meal at The Queen's Head. Rothbury in mid March 2022. Despite the rather bleak exterior it feels welcoming and intimate once inside. The menu is basically standard pub-grub but is freshly prepared, well presented and very tasty. My Tikka Masala was better than many that I have had in Indian restaurants and my partner declared her chicken meal to be delicious. The staff were very friendly, kind and attentive.Recommended.

Clean room. Breakfast worst we had ever experienced. Only packets rice crispies. No fruit. Yoghurt pots on ice A week out of date!!We pointed this out and they were removed. Nothing else offered. Eggs were cooked okay. Few jams set out No butter. No side plates or cutlery on the table. No toast offered.Very disappointed!

Friendly and helpful staff. We were fortunate when we turned up to get a table in the restaurant. I would recommend that you book a table in advantage. The food and drinks are good quality and tasty. The food is reasonably priced.

Very friendly welcome from the staff. Had not booked and took a chance on a table being free and staff went out of their way to find us a table. Lovely pub with excellent value food and drink on the menu. Great menu with lots of options. Had the steak burger with bacon, very filling and tasty. Chips were excellent. Black Sheep beer was great. Will definitely recommend and return.

A wonderful welcome to the town!We arrived for the first day of a short break just in dinner time and looking back I am glad we found The Queens Head.Sanitisers were available by the door and customers were encouraged to clean hands before walking in the restaurant. We have guided a table for 4 and tables had dividers strategically place to maintain social distancing.A wide selection of traditional British dishes was available on the menu. There was also a specials menu which the staff could have made us aware of but we weren’t disappointed by the food we ordered. We decided to take for all of our food to come together and ordered creamy mushrooms, portion chips, chicken strips which with a portion of chips with its self and chicken with haggis cooked in peppercorn sauce, and all of the food was just delicious. The creamy sauce with mushroom was memorable, chicken strips were freshly cooked and well battered. It was the first timemy daughter was having haggis, and she absolutely loved it. Along with all the great food, the chips felt ordinary. The dessert is what made me give 5-star for my rating. I have yet to a rocky road which melts in the mouth, disappointed I didn’t order that for myself and had to rely on my daughters will to share her delicious dessert. I ordered Biscoff Cheesecake, which was one of a kind too and comes highly recommended. If you are in town, don’t leave without eating here.

Excellent staff, clean room, very dog friendly. I was in room 9 twin ensuite clean well stocked. Would have rated higher had the towel rail heated up to make room warm for a shower and the window had closed properly so no draft came in. Bit chilli to have a shower. The bedroom window was similar. Lots of draft. I would book again if no other options. I didn't draw the staffs attention to the 2 issues I had. I think it was very obvious that the windows need replacement. Lovely fabric on the breakfast chair
