First time in a Chinese restaurant in a few years ... and The New Rendezvous made it worth the wait. The set meal banquet we had (between four people) was excellent, the wine selection was good and the friendly, attentive staff made this a great evening out with friends. Looking forward to returning soon. 👍🏻

This restaurant used to be number one but not now the food was below average and the staff didn’t control at all bunched of load overbearing customers. Kevin the previous owner would be horrified.

My friend and I shared a delicious meal last night at this restaurant. We had the Rendezvous Banquet for two and the food was superb. The service was excellent too and I was relieved to find the tables at a good distance and a request to wear a mask when entering the restaurant. A very enjoyable experience.

I recently had a take away from the Rendezvous express in Brunswick Village, it was superb. I was led to believe The new rendezvous in Ponteland was the same company. Tonight having ordered a similar meal to the last one in Brunswick I can honestly say how disappointing the meal from Ponteland was. The spicy salt and pepper king prawns were soggy and not a nice taste, the King Prawn Chow mein was slimy and very thin noodles with no flavour ( plenty of ‘sauce’ )but utterly disappointing. Won’t order from them again.

Food is average and service is poor.Never once came to the table to ask how everything was.Got mixed up with our drinks order - two still waters.Asked for the bill. The individual bought the bill with the card machine. Before I could look at the bill fully he took the bill of me and entered the amount into the card machine. Did see however, that they had added 12.5% service charge. Now I wonder why he was in a rush to take the bill of me so quick.Don't get conned from this restaurant. The service charge is optional and had there been some service - would have happily paid it.Will never return.
