Pleasant courtyard in which to dine however the Mediterranean salad was meagre in quantity and quality. Have had coffees and eaten here previously but probably wouldn’t go back now. Such a shame

What a shame on such a nice day that service was extremely slow, repetitive, and I mean repetative….no obvious discussion amongst staff.Felt extremely pressured and made to, feel uncomfortable.Still feeling like we were being “watched”,..ordered drinks…they took ages, then ordered food, before 3 other tables…to the point we asked if our order had been forgotten .assured it had not .we awaited our food…myself had bruschetta….omg it was so oily, burnt garlic, and not at all nice.my OH had a sausage pasta dish, which he also said was to oily…I went to visit the ladies before our plates were collected.so I had no chance to mention our issues….OMG how shocked was I to see the chef coming out of the toilets having checked on them. Still in his chef whites…..if that’s what you could call them.Having walked past the kitchen.rest assured I WILL NEVER EAT in this place again. The kitchen was filthy, with pan scrubs and dish clothes on the floor, fresh food ready to serve amongst food returned and dirty plates, complete disarray…..I am completely shocked that this place is still open……….

What a fantastic place with the smallest kitchen in the world. Paolo is a brilliant Chef and Peter is perfect for front of house. We'll be back. Dug & Kim x.

Lovely courtyard with great coffee and tasty Italian food. Tomato soup was amazing. Very friendly

A sunny afternoon sitting in the courtyard you could feel you were in the Mediterranean. Lovely friendly staff, great coffee, delicious food.

Visited just before they closed on Sunday and were welcomed with open arms by the very friendly Italian proprietor. We had the most delicious pork broth made the prettier way with lots of black pepper, celery and potato. The garlic bread was perfect. We would have loved to try more on the menu, with the great Italian coffee and gelato. Looks like we'll just have to go back! Don't leave Hexham without visiting Salute.

Very agreeable indeed. Foccacia sandwiches were tasty and reasonably priced. Gnocchi was nice and light. Enjoyed our meal in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant. Also the young lady that took out order was extremely polite.

Excellent a gem of a find. Great staff excellent service and the best hot chocolate I have ever had. We felt really safe and comfortable sitting in the courtyard setting. A good menu of Italian food was also available if required.

Lovely little Italian bar and cafe with delightful outside courtyard to sit in. Friendly service.

A delightful find. The coffee is 1st class, authentically Italian. The service was wonderful, friendly and attentilative. There is a little coffee bar at the back which made us feel like we were in Italy, then a nice and bright main room. The cappucino was delcious, a strong flavour (typicaly Italian). We also had some of the small Italian sweets (a mini chocolate pastry nand mini cherry almond) which were delicious and just right to accompany our coffee. The food menu looked good and we hope we can visit again.
