Shoulder of Mutton in Northumberland

Called in for a meal at lunchtime, whilst it wasn't too busy, the service was excellent, staff - super friendly and the meal was top notch. Have been before and will return again.

We were stopping nearby this week and have been for food & drinks 4 times, excellent service every time, food was great and everybody was friendly. Very dog friendly with treats & water bowls. Thanks

Popped in today . Mother had a thirst quenching lager and lime followed by the cornedbeef pie with triple cooked chips and peas with hot gravey . The pie wasMammoth in size and tasted Delicious mum said it was perfect, so tasty . I had a most glorious beef dinner . The potatoes mashed and roast were piping hot as was the Yorkshire pudding and the gravy was very tasty,veg was hot and fresh the turnip was very good . For pudding mother had the sticky toffee pudding and toffee sauce with icecream and fruit . Now my mum doesn't have a big appetite but she ate the lot and washed it down with a coffee. I had an apple crumble with hot custard. Superb pudding and just right . The coffee was lovely proper tasting coffee. The service was excellent people serving were welcoming eager to help and hoping you enjoyed your meal and time in the pub . We got in the car and carried our tummies home . It was one of those meals that leaves you feeling satisfied happy,hopeful and ready to fight the world . Thank you and compliments to the chef . I'd recommend the food and I will be back xxx

Lovely meal with friends. Good service. We all enjoyed our choice of meal. All served hit and very tasty. Good size portions and tasty chips.

Lovely accommodating staff, food and portion size was perfect. Back again, lovely as always. Had time gor a pudding this time and the apple crumble and custard didn't disappoint.

If you fancy trying somewhere different this could be the place. A few miles to the North West of Morpeth. We've been a few times now for meals and never been disappointed. A large bar area, separate restaurant area and a beer garden for the fine weather. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Carpark at the side with a few spaces at the front, wheel chair accessible from the side.

Had dinner there, lamb casserole wth creamy mash and s leek dumpling, excellent. Very friendly staff with great service and very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

Great atmosphere here lots of local trade for food, we here for Sunday Carvery was really good nice thick cut juicy beef loads of vegetables very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend.

Popped after a long winter cycle to amble and back , well long for me. Had the hock soup with gluten free bun and triple roast extra veg Was perfect just what I needed , leaving well fed and an early night. also great warm friendly service.
