Visited Sunday tea time, great live music, and superb choice of beer.

New Year's Eve was to be my first visit here alongside two good drinking buddies. I was overjoyed that the rarely found Shipyard beer was on draught. We all sampled the delights of a pickled egg. Perhaps an acquired taste but it took the edge off nicely. The folk in here were not young, hip nor that trendy as such, but they were fully sound to be amongst. This is a great bar to fire beer down, away from the less traditional but in no way more valid wine bar style joints.

Limited time in Hexham but remember good times in the pub so popped in for a very quick half. Wish it could have been a pint or even two. Great pub and very friendly publican and locals. Good to see things haven't changed. Great local pub still. Good luck.

Great pub close to the centre of historic Hexham with a good selection of real ales. Very willing to offer tasters for each of the beers before you buy. Recommended.

Small but welcoming, The new owners are lovely- draft ales and decent ciders and even dog friendly!

Fabulous friendly pub with great atmosphere and beer. The Landlady and Landlord make you feel so welcome. Recommend you try the homemade sausage rolls, very tasty and perfect with a pint.

Terrific little pub. Nice selection of local beers and lovely home-cooked pub grub at great value. Couldn’t resist a sausage roll for later although not sure how will fit it in after the gammon, chips and 2 eggs!
