The Barn at Beal in Northumberland

Came for some lunch with the family. Food and service was great. And we weren't disappointed with the cakes we took away for later. Lovely little park at the side for the kids to run around. You can sit both inside and outside. Was a little chilly so we opted for inside

We popped in here for a scone and coffee after a lovely visit lindesfarne, we were seated promptly but the service was not quite as prompt. We were waiting 20 minutes for our order to be taken and another 30 minutes for 2 cold scones and 2 coffees. The coffees also came out cold and the scones stale and old. Dreadful service and 100% would not recommend

Ate here 3days while on campsite. Staff extremely courteous and prompt. Food and coffee so tasty. Barn@Beal is kept very clean, including small area for dogs&owners. Worth detouring off main road for.

I arrived on a cold and wet miserable day and had miscalculated the crossing times. The Barn was busy but the friendly staff found me a table and the service was quick and efficient. I had the Roasted Veg and Goats Cheese Quiche and it was excellent. A lovely spot.

If I had reviewed The Barn after our first two visits, I would have given 4 stars and praised them for their pleasant staff. Today, however, we visited for a third time and it was like chalk and cheese.We had to send back a cake because it smelled like wet dog. The waitress changed our order but then said that was what meringue was supposed to smell like. When I tried to correct her, she walked away.Later, I saw the same waitress feeding biscuits to a dog inside the restaurant. I did not see her wash her hands before serving another customer.Needless to say, we will not be visiting there again.

Came across this by accident. Trundled down the road to see the causeway, but the tide was in. Turned around and parked in the car park of the Barn at Beal. Nipped in for breakfast, what a beautiful place, gorgeous food, really tasty. Wonderful staff, very friendly and knowledgeable about the causeway. We only had an hour to wait before we could cross. We had full English breakfasts with coffee. A place not to be missed. There's a campervan overnight stop there, with hookup, not sure of prices but we'd keep in mind for the future.

100% recommend we had mixed meals including gluten free also dairy free. This restaurant know in great detail about cross contamination you can order and be completly as ease. The meals were delicious, we even managed to squeeze in breakfast before we left for home. Staff polite, fast service we will be back.

This lovely restaurant and bar is situated looking out across the causeway to Holy Island the view is spectacular. The restaurant offers a varied menu, the food is delicious and well presented. A good range of alcholic, soft drinks are available. We found all the staff very friendly and welcoming. There is also a lovely camping and caravan site.

Best and only place to stop for lunch whilst waiting for the tide to go out so you can drive over to Holy Island. Lots of inside and outside seating. Excellent menu, I had the crab sandwich which was very good. We were well looked after thank you.
