The Boathouse in Northumberland

The food is really very good. There are a good selection of daily specials but the house staples of lobster, fish and chips or the amazing fish platter are all good choices. Only four star as the service at times was a little sluggish but the staff are all really friendly.

Quality ingredients, good choice of food, great setting. Family of four walked out full and happy having a range of fish, pizzas, steak, mussels and chowders. Excellent service, especially from Eleanor.

Exceptional. Fantastic seafood, impossible to get fresher. Lovely relaxed dining experience, perfect level of attentiveness. Anne-Marie was wonderful and we would go back just for her..

Amble was a lovely place to visit made even better with the visit to the Old Boathouse. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was perfect. I can recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a place to eat. 😊

Having visited a few years ago, we tried to enjoy a meal when my husband was ill with cancer, his heart wasnt in it, so we are so pleased to be able to return together. We had a lovely meal, the staff were attentive, helpful and fun. The food was amazing, so much better than we remembered, we will definitely return when we next visit Amble. Thank you. 😊

Ordered seafood platter for the two of us. Was a large and expensive dinner but well worth it. The view by the harbour and the food made it very enjoyable.

Fabulous meal here last night on the recommendation of our B&B staff. Mussels were possibly the best we’ve had in a long time with a deliciously rich creamy sauce. Hake with Bombay potatoes , curried sweet potato and crispy kale with red onion bhaji was wonderful. Highly recommend.

A dining experience that is out of this world! Can't wait to get back and try other items from the menu. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and service was personal and swift. The seafood was fresh and amazing and the view added to a relaxing dining experience. If you are in amble and you love seafood, local produce and fine dining make this your place to visit.
