Great location for walking. Lovely premises, good food and perfectly served by staff. Annoying background pop music though- change to quality songs that harmonise with restaurant environment and customers please.

Very pleasant the 2 pints of Lovely Nelly and 1 pint of Tyne Blonde along with Haddock, chips and garden peas. Were very nice indeed quite a busy pub but the staff were brilliant and very helpful with the customers. The Boatside would absolutley defo warrant a second visit.

This is a lovely pub located near the South Tyne River and a couple of miles walk from Hexham. Sit in or out. Roaring fire during our winter visit. Great food and lovely coffee. Immaculately kept. Friendly landlord and staff. We'll be back.

This is a proper country pub that does great food and beers. Honestly, you can't go wrong here, the best place for miles! Basic pub menu and daily specials, all to a high standard.

I can't praise this establishment highly enough!! I have visited this lovely picturesque place several times before and received wonderful service and amazing food for a very reasonable price. It is in the heart of Northumberland's unique and beautiful countryside and is a very charming original building close to local historic Roman areas of interest. Following storm Arwen some of our community are now still without power (after nearly two weeks). The last thing I expected was to receive such kindness, consideration and community spirit from the owners and staff. I have only to express my heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and generous support during this time. Thank you so much for your help! The accommodation is very well maintained, modern and delightfully decorated. Also warm and with electricity and water heating... You are a credit to the community! Thanks so much for your kindness and generous help.

We booked here for a meal to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. On arrival its was a lovely sunny evening so as we were really we sat outside for a drink while we waited for our booking, the service was great we were asked several times if we were being attended to, most of the staff are really young and very polite a credit to the owners.Only one complaint is that I thought I had booked a restaurant that they have I wasn't told till arrival that the table was in the bar area, I was a little upset by this and the seating is not very comfortable here, not what I really wanted for our anniversary meal as 7 staff also regularly congregated in that area. The food was lovely if a little expensive. The location is lovely and the pub decor is bright and cheery. Would I book here again? Definitely but I would check I was eating in the restaurant area.
